Eventually, hatchery level 8 will allow feeder production for 5 dragonlings, without the feathers’ requirement, in 10 hours each time, but some access of dragonlings can even flow from farming the initially opened areas.
I debated not doing this quest this morning as I need feathers to load up my hatchery. But I want those coins so I’m doing the quest. I suppose if I really wanted feathers I could use some of those dragon flasks they gave us rather than saving them.
Until no further Areas release this is a only source of these coins besides the Idle Advanture Chest so having 5 is more then 0.
Wtih all stages compete there is nothing else to do.
So why would I skip this quest ?
(I currently have 23 Mortar and Pestle and will also need items to ascend any 4 and 5 *s).

So, in preparation for hatchery 9-10. will it be of most importance to have amassed dragonlings or ascension mats? For ascension mats, will it be best to leave farming for these until areas 4+ are opened up?
stages 1-4 yield 2.5 dragonlings / WE
stage 5 yields 3 dragonlings / WE
All stages give a single silver coin, but these may be of most use in future portals offering dragons not available from a hatchery.
Dragonlings (eggs) will always be needed I’m afraid. I’ll keep doing the quests, I’ll use crates as needed but am trying to hold onto the larger crates until later as I only have a 110 capacity for storage at the moment. I’m certain that dragonlings will be easier to come by as more levels release.
With a 6 day burden on it, you will be able to farm mats and eggs faster than you can build. Unless you’re using speed-ups, you wont have a problem maintaining it.
Yes, but that need, unrestrained by an initial lack of nest feathering, may only really kick in after unlocking hatchery 10 and reaching egg storage to either 3-3-4 or 5-6.
I don’t know why egg storage goes up to level 10. I guess SG could have planned developments to make use of capacity. I hope not. I like leaving an empty plot.
Hatchery levels 3-7 yield less xp than hatchery level 1 and at greater expense, so these levels may only be used if players lack specific desired heroes or, perhaps after maxing pulled heroes, a player lacks a levelling project in a colour.
Coincidently though, having recently and magnificently beating a first stage of of Rescue Dragonlings, it yielded a 3* ascension mat. I’m yet to gain a 4* mat.

I don’t think you aimed this question at me, but I’ll answer. I currently have 12 grey feathers, all dragonling bundles used ( I have 5 dragonlings not training). I currently have 19 trainings lvl 1 in process spilt across 2 hatcheries, and is my Find Dragonlings mission is @ 833/1000.
