Nice eye you have there. At first glance, the variance of the font size is unnoticeable. But if you look at it carefully, there is indeed a slight difference. The encircled texts are indeed smaller than the others.
Before, on the alliance banner, texts were enlarged using the “#” symbol. I don’t know if it is still working now or how can the same be the opposite.
Hold the phone further away from your eyes. Voila! Font is smaller

This, experiencing too, seems to only affect text that would be exactly the text box width to avoid wrapping to a new line since recent phone/game update.
Just to put this here, I haven’t tried this in a while but as I recall it would only work in the alliance description and possibly the featured message, but not regular chat. So where it works you can change font/emoji size like this: [%80]
Where 100% (code [%100]) is the normal size of course, and you can go bigger or smaller.
It’s not some we’re deliberately causing, it’s happening automatically.
