What do troops do for the heroe?And what is the lock for?

They add to the power of the hero they are assigned to. Increasing attack defense among other things
They add attack and defense to your heroes, higher tier troops add mana bonuses, healing/health bonuses and increased chance of critical.
The lock button is for heroes you know you’re not going to use as feeders, so you don’t feed them to another hero by mistake. You should always lock all of your best heroes.
