[WARNING] A Summons Experience - Chasing Guardian Panther - A Warning for Chasing Heroes

This is very misleading as I have never spent close to that amount in one go. I have saved gems and waited for events to come back around and did my budget of spins and if I got nothing wait till next time. Yea some people have a bad go like guvnor and some dont but telling people this is normal is far from truth. The fact that this man spent that much and was willing to walk away empty handed and continue playing, yet some guy makes 3 summon and swears SG is the devil says more than enough. Gacha games arent new so complaining about posted odds, and gambling, when you knew what it was when you arrived here is moot. Go to the casino and start cussingnoutnthe pit bosses because you deserve a win because you been at the same table for an hour and tell me.hownthat works out. Let’s yell.at the gas station attendant who sold me a losing lottery ticket also. ANY PERSON playing a gacha type game be it this one or fantasy football that cant accept that you probably gonna have a bad go at some point doesnt need to be here cut and dry.

Spending for a specific hero is very different that “having good pulls”.

Let’s say you want to do some Avalon summons, and you need ONLY Morgan lee Fay. All the other are dupes, so trash.
How much do you expect to spend before finally have her?

Statistics says that it would require a “normal luck” if you spend about 800 dollars.

If you spend less but get some other hero (but you are still happy with it) it’s totally another story.

Math is not an opinion.

You can lend an Arthur or a Guinevre in the process, still you don’t achieve your target.

Yes but choosing to go for that hero in one go and going all out and just allowing time to dictate what you get is very different. Someone has to make the choice to chase, and he showed how much that chase could cost. Simply put chasing one hero is not worth it as people not willing to spend 2.99 for a v.i.p that give their whole allaince gems also would never even dream of telling the story we just heard. Take what you get and make the best of it, the amounts those guys spent to be at the top doesnt prove anything other than they spent for heroes, and a majority of them still run mono.

This was a great story and glad he shared it.

For me people that have limited budget (at least less then those 800$ monthly) should always maximize the outcome choosing a portal that gives you more then one hero you desire.

I personally pulled in Avalon before because i was interest in 4 of the 5 legendary involved, and never pulled on pirates (even though i think Finley is one of the strongest heroes avalaible now) because chance to get that one out of five are too slim.

I miss many heroes, so chance to at least get something new are really high for me.
Sadly i’m really picky for heroes, so i have only a few i really desire. And in that, i usually go out with all i have for them.

So i’m quite similar, and i think people should always remember how much this game could cost you, if you don’t limit yourself.

gamble

  1. play games of chance for money; bet. ----> I think that I dont have to say much about this. Summoning in the portal is a play of chances and you are clearly putting money in it.

  2. take risky action in the hope of a desired result. ----> The OP stated that he had a chance of 40% of getting what he wanted with 65k gems. The normal outcome would have been not to get the card. Was risky? The odds says it was.

He is promoting that this is a reasonable behaviour which is by all means, gambling. The worst part here is that you all agree that this is totally normal. Maybe I am wrong…but for me this is not something we should be proud of. As I said, you can do what ever you want with your money, but I prefer that in this forum ppl wouldnt promote gambling.

I think everyone in this thread is in agreement of not promoting gambling or expending beyond your means in this game (you and everyone who you think is disagreeing with your point)

The reason this thread is lauded (praised) is not because anyone is “proud” of @Guvnor or the lengths he went to get Guardian Panther but rather because instead of just posting in the summons thread “look at how lucky I am…I got Guardian panther”, he clearly shows to the many people who think they are cursed/the system is rigged/etc. that these people who are summoning these heroes are not all lucky and getting heroes on 1 pull or 10-pulls but rather investing hundreds if not thousands of dollars to chase heroes.

People playing this game too often feel upset or frustrated seeing random summons thinking everyone else is lucky while they get none. So my friend providing them data of “hey, I did 240 summons and only got the 5* legendary I wanted by chance on draw 231” while also showing the 3*, 4*, 5* and HotM distributions helps normalize that summons are terrible.

Hope you understood, but if not hopefully this helps provide a clear direction on the usefulness of this information to others reading along.

@Guvnor Thank you for recording your results, providing insight on RNG behind it, and pointing out that a budget is very important. This was very informative.

If someone can afford to spend money on a pass time and do so responsibly

Its absolutely reasonable behavior

Again i stand by my previous statements

If you can’t afford to spend money on your hobbies, sorry to hear that and i would suggest better life choices

But that doesn’t mean you get the right to pass judgement on anyone else that can

Don’t like the thread? Move on

Don’t like gambling, find another game

But if u don’t do either of those things, the very least you can do is take your judgemental self righteous opinion and shove it

to a point, then, I should be lucky that I only spent 300 bucks trying…

This reminds me of a harrowing experience I had in beta.
I wanted to draw & test out Gazelle with the 3 new HOTM.
It took over 40 resets to get her. (40 * 10,400 gems = ~4,000 USD)

It um… was sobering.

Right on Guvnor… a realistic tale of the odds. You won’t convince some and it’ll definately spur debate but hopefully you hit your “targeted” audience and if it convinces 1 person to moderate it’s a good thing!

I concur that was as nice a reply as I’ve seen from you…

Honestly…I had a stupid tik tok going through my mind when you posted:

“wow…didn’t know it did that”

All judgment is warranted & understood for the statement I just made

Missing the boat here friend…

  1. He is not playing a “game of chance for money”

  2. This is not a risky action, in this situation for this player. If i have $5,000 to blow and only blow $4,999 - I have taken no risk!!

Hope that helps.

You paid $660 FOR A HERO?!?!?!
Pardon me while I go into shock.

In my mind, the saddest part is that @Guvnor didn’t pick up a Gazelle or Chameleon along the way.

I can only imagine of thinking of what this would have felt like if at the end I only got Kong or Owl instead of the Panther you wanted. :confounded:  :face_vomiting:

Which could have just as easily happened instead.

A valuable cautionary tale…
