special-boost Special Boost At the start of each turn, this Hero’s Special Skill deals an additional +30% damage for 6 turns.
In battles with multiple waves, the effect is refreshed at the beginning of each wave.
:no_entry_sign: Resists: This Hero has the innate resistance against Sand Damage.
:hourglass: Ability: This hero gains 50 HP when a minion owned by them is destoryed.
:dizzy: Special Skill: Strike of the Cobra
  • Deals 535% damage to the target.
  • Damage Bypasses target’s Minions
  • All Enemies who own a minion or fiend recieve 408 Sand Damage over 3 turns.
  • Element Link summons a Nature Minion for all Holy allies with 6% HP and 10% attack inherited from the caster.

Special thanks to @Garanwyn & @zephyr1 for assistance on summoning odds and proofreading for this section.

It’s important to remember that HOTM have very low summoning odds. No amount of summoning will guarantee a HOTM.

On average, in a 10-pull, you have a 12.3% chance of summoning the HOTM.

But that statistic can lead our minds astray in exactly how our odds play out as we continue summoning.

Some useful insights:

  • 73 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 100
  • 95 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 229
  • 99 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 352

Putting that in Perspective

  • 27 out of every 100 people won’t get the HOTM by the 100th pull

  • If 1 Million players each summoned 100 times, 270,000 of those players wouldn’t get the HOTM

  • 5 out of every 100 people won’t get the HOTM by the 229th pull

  • If 1 Million players each summoned 229 times, 50,000 of those players wouldn’t get the HOTM

Another not really great HotM.
He is not half bad against minion makers, but still an average sniper in the end.

Sadly, that’s the best we can have in HotM zone right now.

In my opinion, after Glenda and at least until Frosth it’s the only HotM really worth summoning for.

He’ll provide nice supporting snipe beside Joon and will be the answer to the purple minion making centers that recently saw some popularity in the game. He not only ignores minion on target Gefjon-style (which after having used Gefjon for some time I really appreciate) but also applies DoT sufficient to burn away any remaining creeps on other heroes. Nice alternative to direct minion removals, because even without minions in play he remains somewhat useful.

Also he eats emblems which are not so popular and sought after (he’s first Sorc sniper), which will make it easy to pump him up.

I see myself swapping my Malosi for him in my yellow stack when facing teams without heavy buffs/ailments or when fighting said Bera/Freya centers. Will be disappointed to miss him, though after heavy pulling on this round of Valhalla, I may need some luck (and with Thor and Vivica+Joon costumes this month, I kinda feel my luck for yellows this year was spent).

On offense he’ll be great with Skadi against minion makers. Fire him first then Skadi. Everything dies in 3 turns at most.

That being said my darts will go to Odin so even if I manage to get him he’ll be sitting on a bench for quite some time.

I believe Freya/ Bera wont be popular tanks anymore after Uraeus entrance!

But if Odin tanks, then Freya/Bera can flank just nicely :wink:

This might have been answered in a previous thread. But his ability to add 50HP after a minion dies. Let’s say he has low health but he has a minion. The opponent applies enough damage to kill him.

A) Would his minion keep him alive with 50 HP?
B) Does the extra 50 HP go into the damage calculation thus the added HP could keep him alive or not depending on the damage?
C) does that 50 HP not get applied at all since it was a one shot kill?

Just curious. I’m assuming it’s option B. Would be awesome if it was A bit that would be more of a resurrection buff.

My .02 on the Hero itself.

We have to realize that HOTM aren’t going to be game changers anymore. But this is one of the best to come in the last few months. I have Gefjon and her ability to apply damage bypassing the minions is VERY nice. And most Minion makers in the game currently are Purple from Valhalla. So it will be a nice addition to my yellow stack along with a Delilah. I also love the added health pet killed minion. That will be useful.

And then the DoT damage to the rest of the enemy on 3 Turns is going to be more useful then we realize. Very nice hero and if it was Fast instead of Average it would be on par with some of the best S3 Heroes. But still very good in my opinion

Alice does 430%
Kingston does 445%
Seshat-400, Sartana-452, Joon-468.

And then with 485% bypassing minions. That certainly ups the ante!

Then compare DoT next:
Gravemaker does 298
Vela does 156
JF 302, Bera 180, Clarissa 224

Decent sniper dmg + strong DoT?

Granted there are stipulations. But…
I think there are some up-and-coming spenders that are having a hard time NOT fielding summoners :rofl:

Then compare stats… sheesh

Certainly the Bera movement is about to see a down tick in their watch towers.

I’m going to try and refrain from using any verbiage that relates to balance and… try… really try hard, to just show any discrepancies between similar skills from now on.
That said,
My first impression: his skill has good synergy with just each internal component. Without the need of a helping hand. Even his resistance, protects him against an enemy Uraeus!

He is very well constructed imo. And reminds me of another Hotm from last year, by construction alone.
The stipulation should keep him from defense and is solid enough, that it won’t matter if it doesn’t.
He looks to be offensive.

Normally: damage preferentially is done to minions; ala meat shield

Uraeus: direct damage from his special skill is done directly to the hero. Ignores any minions in play.

At 1st glance seems to be a counter to the S3 purple minion machines. But the dot will require multiple rounds to remove one minion copy. Against Bera’s pet dot ailment, element link won’t work. So either get the sand dot or element link pets, but not both against Bera.

So, boils down to an average speed gold sniper with a little extra. If I get him, a definite wait and see.
