At first you do criticise the hero - 4 minutes later you post hes actually quite good after some testings?
Bad version of octros is a absolutely inaccurate way to describe him by the way
Hes way better than outdated octros really
People seem to forget that his direct damage is just a part of his special - not the whole thing what he does
And for the part where i do see him on attack is to support your damage stack in other colour - where direct damage may be not the most important skill of his special but instead thrown back & reduced dmg is more helpful
His passive damage should not be forgotten by the way - unfortunately he didnt get attack up passive when attacked by special skill - woud have fitted his support role way better than minus mana to one enemy only
Everyone is comparing him to Octros and cObakan but I definitely see him more like a damaging Sif (they are so similar in the way they do riposte and reduce damage)
I understand some nerf though. I just think the feedback looks worse because they lump it all into one. He would have been OP before as no fast heroes can do over 300 percent damage. Heck there are average heroes not close to that. I didn’t get him, but I think your right and he still looks good to use as a hero and its nice to see a cleric that’s not a healer. Also, isn’t he the first counter attack with a fast charge?
Somehow I managed to pull Ultrox and Set while looking for Phorcys and Hathor. Urgh.
But thinking about it a bit more, I don’t think Ultrox is that bad as I can build a team around him.
I have Xnolphod and Ludwig who can feed Ultrox free mana which mitigates the problem of depleting tiles from the board.
Ludwig can benefit from Ultrox’s counterattack and damage reduction while taunt is active.
The monster stats with counter-attack and damage reduction at fast speed should make him a formidable tank too. Possibly flanked with a 2LB Kara with auto-taunt? I have Aramis and not sure Ultrox would displace him though.
Just got this guy. Still not quite sure how I feel about him, but I’ll definitely level him up a bit to try out. Currently Becky and Charon are my next two to get Tabards, but maybe I’ll hold off a bit to see how this guy does. I’m sure I’ll soon be facing some in raids
cc obakan
which is widely regarded as a really good hero
after some testing i think ultrox is slightly better on offense due to that damage reduction (if not used as part of damage stack with panther & co - but if used in this role the counterattack part of skill doesnt matter anyways in most cases) - while not as good on defense because superior revive from obakan which mostly procs at least 5 times in a row most matches
I forgot about him. Yes, I don’t have him either so Ultox would have been welcomed. Plus I have a cleric emblem surplus. But I was denied him. So thalassa it is first. I will still have some if he should ever pop up in the future
Just got xnolphod’s brother. Usually I don’t really use such defensive heroes, but this one is quite different. His other qualities compounds his usefulness. Him sometimes able to generate mana with his passive and his 2LB makes him slightly better
Just throwing this out there. If a hero hasnt been released and their stats change from beta its not a nerf. They adjusted him from being released OP to prevent everyone from crying about a new OP tank that needs to be nerfed. So they saved you some money and tissues.
Exactly this I am thankful to SG, this hero will stay forever at 1/1 and will collect dust in my roster but at least I will not spend my precious mats on him.
You guys need to cut the developers some slack. Everyone got mad that they didnt listen to beta and they kept releasing overpowered heros. Now everyone is mad that they listened to beta didnt release him OP and have to nerf him post release. Make up your minds.
