Kong does nearly as much damage to EVERYBODY. Probably more, with his much higher attack stat.
in defense, an early kill is a big plus

The problem is, Tyr doesnt seem to kill as you want us to believe early in the game while defending.
Most definitely Guardian Kong. Tyr is not great on defense. Sounding like a broken record, but he does almost diddly squat on defense.

I’d go kong id probably use more daily in other stuff aswell as defence ain’t everything offence is what you need. Fighter emblems there alot of good other people where barbarian there still is some.
I am one of the people who voted for G. Kong on reddit.
Comparing Tyr and G. Kong as opponents faced in Raid, G. Kong is overwhelmingly annoying. Certainly Tyr will be resurrected in Fast and self-healing. But that’s it.
Unlike the snipers, multi-hitters in the defense team are more reliable because they do not have unlucky hits (missing dying enemies).

Another Kong vote. I don’t have Tyr, but my Kong is at 3/70 but I am planning on giving him rings (after I finish a few other projects) for use mostly on offense. With your current defense setup he makes more sense. You may outgrow him at some point, but for now he is worth it.

Don’t have Tyr, but I think he might be overrated. Anchor rates him A+, but imho he is Paper Tiger: looks neat in theory, but in practice he’s not as awesome. True, he can revive a lot of time with his skill and talent - but he does not much of damage to be a true sniper and besides staying alive he does not do much else, and he does nothing for team.
Kong I got like year ago and looked down upon him much of the time. Then bam, he got update which gives his skill an AoE damage comparable to that to Ursena without any requirements, and also cleanse. Average speed cleanse is a big in current meta. Needless to say he got the first set of rings I got after the update. He has weak defense, so not really a defense material, but flanking him to Heimdall will leave him most likely with ton of HP and good chance to fire at least once and wipe out your enemy (somebody in war I fought had such a team that did exactly that). So I say Kong as well.
Which reminds me tomorrow we have the Pirates, and I am eager to try him with Falcon in Legendary. Should be fun.

Just to clarify, I think Guardian Kong is the better choice on defense, but I can see his appeal on offense. On offense, I can see Tyr surviving and potentially able to take out 3-4 heroes all by himself.
