Tracking of Event Leaderboard (Top 100) Master Scores - Legendary, Epic and Rare

I have been taking screenshots of some key ranks in the events leaderboards since the new event format was released. The scores I am tracking are those of the players who finished 1st, 2nd, 10th, 50th and 100th in the event.

Unfortunately, I did not take screenshots of all key leaderboard ranks in all events so the data is not complete but I will post what I have anyway.

1 - 1st
2 - 2nd
3 - 10th
4 - 50th
5 - 100th

If you spot any typos/mistakes, please let me know. I’d also appreciate it if you give me the missing data, if you happen to have it.

You can see that events are getting more and more competitive which means that it is harder for players to achieve a higher rank.

Do you think that the increase in scores is because of the appearance of new heroes (e.g. Nordri)? Or it is because the rewards make more and more players compete? Is it time for a change in events?

Edit: Special thanks to @Peterenp for providing me with most of the missing information.

Thank you very much for keeping track on this and posting.

I think the increase in scores comes from a few things:

  • more people ‘catching on’ to the variety of strategies used to finish levels faster
  • better heroes, as you pointed out
  • increased scarcity of ascension mats
  • emblems have been around long enough that +20’s are more and more common

The info has been updated.

This month’s Avalon scores are lower than the scores from Grimmforest in May.

But they are about 10k higher than the previous Avalon event In February and 50k higher than Avalon in September. This means that the competition for the top 100 is getting tougher and tougher over time.

Is there any way of adding the 1000 tier to legendary, and 500 to epic? Maybe if someone placed very close to those thresholds could provide an update? It is very helpful to know if it is worth pushing a bit more to reach those tiers…

Some people have reported scores and positions in this thread, which might give an indication of points required for lower tiers.

As @EngOran said, there is some information in that thread but you should be careful with it because some people have provided screenshots from the beginning of the event so their final rank would be much lower.

Also, scores vary from event to event (and tend to increase over time) so unless you know someone who is close to top 500 during that specific event, no other data would be reliable.

I believe with the latest release of some costumes (Marj, Leo, Colen, Scarlet, Ulmer) scores will go a bit higher from now on.

Agreed, costume bonuses in addition to fully emblemed heroes will lead to an even bigger increase in scores.

It is quite unfortunate that the Devs are not making any changes to events and loot brackets.

In the League of Villians event you will get 2% extra point for the total points per used event hero specific to that event, and it add upon the point what you can receive with 20% extra attack, health and defense for event heroes.
If this goes live, then then event scores will make a big jump…

I actually meant that the Devs are not considering changing the scoring mechanism. It would shake things up if scoring is not based on how many times you are willing to enter a stage and quit it immediately, if the board is not perfect.

That’s true. But I hope it will not be released like that. Events are already P2W (if you don’t have the right heroes you don’t really stand a chance of finishing at the top), there is no need to add even more P2W aspects to them.

As per their latest communication League of Villians will be released with version 35 in early February, and this extra scoring was still in this week’s Beta.
So I am pretty sure it will make it to the live game against Beta testers and forum members negative opinions about it… :frowning:
(And this mechanism most likely will be added to other events too as per their announcement)

As you can see what is happening with event and HotM costumes.
They put them to Beta on Monday, but terminating Beta because of vocal feedback to rethink their position on Tuesday…
And today they announced that these costumes will be released soon (before Springvale event) anyway…

A maximum replay count per stage can prevent this, but why would they do that ?
If players willing to do these replays and “pay” for retrying a level 1000 times, then why would SG want to prevent them in doing this ?
