It sounds like you are bursting at the seams waiting for a 5* or 2 to work on. That will drain your ham.
If you don’t have ingredients, troop feeders or 5* heroes to level, there is no shortage of food in this game to raise 3* and 4* heroes. The food requirements are to keep spenders in check from instantly raising lvl 30 troops, every new 5* to Max and unlimited potions from extended farming. I imagine f2p who raid daily and have all Max farms all have your “problem.”
