Smartphone Edits
When you are editing an old reply on a smartphone the cancel edit button ( red highlight ) is very close to the start of the last line of the edit
You can easily hit it by accident losing all your work
You can place several blank lines, ending with FIN to keep your smartphone taps VERY far away from the cancel edit button
Especially if you forget to back up or save ( see below )
Smartphone Replies
When you are editing a new reply on a smartphone the cancel reply button ( red highlight ) AND the post reply button ( yellow highlight) are both very close to the start of the last line of the edit
You can easily hit it by accident losing all your work OR posting an unfinished thought
You can place several blank lines, ending with FIN to keep your smartphone taps VERY far away from the cancel reply button AND the post reply button
Especially if you forget to back up or save ( see below )
Smartphone Back up
For long posts ( AKA 99.99% of my posts ), I back up my post every 10 minutes
Select the whole post
Tap copy ( red highlight )
Paste the whole post into the Notepad on my iPhone ( once the post is successfully uploaded to the forum, I can delete this back up )
edit, This is also why all my posts have the title on the first line
Smartphone Save ( or any device )
If I need to stop editing / writing,
I backup my post ( see above )
Hit refresh on my browser
Close the browser window
This saves a rough draft to the forum servers
You can access your drafts in your profile under Activity >> Drafts (X)
