The Purple Aether Deal

Apologies If I missed this, but this is the first time the 5th Aether has been made available outside of random reward correct? If so, this is not a good look, as it appears to just be a blatant cash grab. I hope I am wrong and missed something before.

It was yellow just over a week ago, same deal

It looks like a recurring weekly offer, with colour rotation?

Those, who need those aethers, and of course more gems, will buy that offer. It’s a decent offer with gems discounted 50%. Better than the mystery gem offer.

Maybe I’ll start tracking how many aether offers there are for one whole month, starting next month? :face_with_monocle:

Could you please? Think this month I counted 5?

That yellow

Now purple

Plus the 3-tier offer

I hope I remembered correctly.

I am focusing on player participation for now.

Sure, I will do for February. I’m glad it’s a shorter month.

Sorry I’m a bit confused, how are the gems discounted 50%? Is that because of the value of the aethers?

In my currency the aethers deal is $47 for 3000 gems and the mystery offer is $31 for 3200 gems.

When aethers were first released for sale, I guesstimated their respective values based on my home currency. Cos no gems were involved. Nothing else offered. Just aethers.

In my currency : Singapore dollars:
Aether III $10 each
Aether II $2.50 each
Aether I $0.50 each

Value of that purple aether offer = $44.98

  1. Aethers alone = $27.50
  2. 3000 gems = $17.48 (40.5% of $43.11; discount of 59.5%)

In the shop, 4800 gems are priced at $68.98
Therefore, 3000 gems would be $43.11

As for the pure gems offer:
First 3x offers = 1200 gems = $13.44
Mystery offer = 3200 gems = $28.98 (I think cos I didn’t buy but I know it’s US$19.99)
Total 4400 gems = $42.42 (67% of $63.23; discount of 33%)

Buy from the shop, 4800 gems for $68.98
Therefore 4400 gems would be $63.23

If all you want are gems, hold off. Wait for Incoming S4 offers. The gems are much cheaper. Comes with coins for S4 too.

Gem value (after converting coins to gem value) is about 49% to 51% discount. Depending on the offer. I disregard the add on like weapons or loot tix or WE.

To me, that’s not the main focus.

I personally think these aether offers are not good value. They seem to be placing comparable value to a big aether as they do the 4* ascension mats. Imo the mats are more valuable than an aether.

That depends on where you are in the game, I think. I certainly think there are quite of a few top players for which the priority is rather to limit break more of their 5* than to ascend new ones.

Not to mention that 5* Aethers are even rarer than 4* AMs, which adds to their comparative value. I don’t like it one bit, but it is what it is.
The mitigating factor is that 4* mats take a hero from almost unusable to at least decent, while limit breaking one “merely” makes it stronger.

Next it’ll be feathers. 5 feathers to take flight and receive no damage for 4 turns. One new event with 4 feathers loot and a 1 feather offer weekly with gems. It might include frequent flier miles pretzels and a free drink. :smirk:

Lmao, we’ll blame you when they introduce it next year :))

It would be cool if ascension materials and limit break stuff could drop from random summonings like the hotm does. I think that would be cool. I know if you have ten summons from some portal summons u can get a chest with a couple items but some added additional things would be a nice addition to the game.

The fact that they’re flat out selling aethers for cash (not gems, cash) and have been for some time now is a pretty clear sign of where they were going with game breakers…excuse me…limit breakers all along. It is just another way to widen the gap between the big spenders and everyone else. It’s almost like we’re playing two different games now. I’m glad I recently decided to go #nospend because this game is heading in an ugly direction.
