Given my roster, and play style,

After doing the math ( see notes ), I am spending my last free gems / Challenge coins on The Last Empire Guardian summons ( TM & Patent Pending )

I still need Falcon

I still need Panther

I hear good things about Gazelle

This is highly likely the last time, for a very long time, for the best odds, of pulling the above heroes ( see notes )

Black Friday summons will be back

Challenge Festival will run for years

Costume meta requires 2x to 7x copies of a hero for optimal use

Regardless, I will probably be disappointed

But at least it will be an informed, math based, disappointment

In a game meta with red 5* c.Marjana, I can still find some value in red 4* Falcon

I still do not have Falcon after 4+ years

With 25 possible, and 3 featured, it could be 16x to 48x months between appearances depending on frequency of Challenge Festival ( 2x to 6x months sounds plausible )

If I were still after Jackal, I think I’d probably pull in this Guardians. But since getting Leo’s costume, I need Jackal way less. And since I had always been chasing Guardians, I have NEVER pulled Pirates, Wonderland, or Avalon, and I’ve only pulled Grimforest once. Although Panther might be the hero I want the most, the better odds of getting her this month don’t outweigh the potential benefits of getting useful threes and fours like Bauchan, Pixie, C. Cat, and Peters, as opposed to S1 food, as consolation prizes.

Yes, I expect it back in June, but I hope my pulls this time will get me most of what I still lack in event threes and fours so I can save gems for BF next year, or some other portal that omits S1s.

The best kind. That way, you know you gave yourself the best shot, but RNG just didn’t cooperate (which can happen any time.) Here’s hoping Falcon shows for you, and maybe even Panther or Gazelle.

@Noble_Weasel I have similar reasons for not pulling in Guardians - I have Jackal, I don’t have Falcon but do have C-Marjana so Falcon becomes less necessary;

And I’m not factoring 5*s in as the odds are terribly low.

Won’t chase Panther, rather chase Sergei as I’m much more likely to get him :slight_smile:

But if I did, my only event 5-star is Guardian Kong. And If I get a dupe of him next month - he was featured in beta - at least he’d come with his costume, which he wouldn’t this month. I could do worse than a max emblem, costume bonus, limit broken Kong! :slight_smile:

I am playing the Guardians event for the coins. My initial thought was save the coins because the Festival event itself will be so difficult for me. On the other hand the BF portal and using my coins now could give me time to speed max potential event heroes to help in December… :thinking:

Jackal has ALWAYS been incredibly difficult to keep alive even before Class quests, Limit Breaker quests, Costumes, etc. allowed SGG to raised the difficulty of all new content ( looking at you Challenge events v3.0 )

While chasing Falcon, I got Jackal after a few years

But never Falcon ( chasing 4+ years and hundreds of US dollars )

Now Jackal 4*+01 sits on the bench, with Valeria 4*+01,

while
Danzaburo 4*+01,
c.Chao 4*+01,
b.Magni 5*+01,
Vivica 5* 4.80, and
Thoth 5* 3.70 have all the fun partying

with
b.Wu Kong 4*+18,
b.Rigard Lv75 4*+18,
b.Melendor 4*+18, and
Frida 5*+01

Bonus X*+1 prevents you accidentally using a hero to level up another hero

Jackal 4*+01 is currently on my farming team for 1.5-8 ( Map Season 1 kits/ backpacks ) and 1.7-4 ( most monsters per energy ) due to high normal damage/ tile damage/ matching damage and very fast mana speed

red Pseudo 5* Falcon

Unlike Jackal, even with c.Marjana, Guardian Falcon is a Pseudo 5* and significantly cheaper to emblem, limit break, and costume ( coming soon TM ) than a 5* hero

Because I have 3x 4* 1.1, and 1x 4*+01, Wilbur ( another red Pseudo 5* hero ), if I get multiple Falcon, I would even level multiple teams of red Pseudo 5* heroes- Falcon, Wilbur, Boldtusk - for war and Mythic Titans

Fair points. I emblemed mine to +19. While going HP/D would help his survival, I didn’t think it would help enough to warrant not amplifying his strength, which is A. Mine is +19 all A. He relies on rogue ability to live.

The biggest difference to his survival in PvE is Guillinbursti. Overheal and rogue made him more usable in that context.

I am on the fence to LB Jackal personally. If I did he may function on PvP given I have overheal and D boosters. He is a pseudo purple titan specialist

Titans he is what he is. If he lives to fire great. He’ll usually be dead by the end.

My biggest gripe with him was never survivability. It always came down to functionality of EDD on single targets, even if very fast mana speed.

Disagreeing. The worst kind. Where I cannot say “let’s try to improve”. Nothing to do about it. Just accept, or if not, rage quit or fall into depression, addiction, whatever at the hand of fate.

I absolutely love my Jackal. I got him and Falcon I think in the same months teltoc ( teltoc really has been the luckiest for me). I’d love a Panther but my low spend budget doesn’t lend to chasing so my challenge tokens will stay for the festival in the more likely hopes of Hansel, Gretel, Shrubbear or Bauchan.

I use my Jackal a lot more than my Falcon in raids, especially since the downfall of green tanks and the rise of Bera, Freya, Alfrike, X-man.

It may be playstyle but I’m used to being sniper heavy and Jackal + in my case Poseidon, but I’m sure Joon would be as effective, is enough typically for any of them. The one I’ve found still has the survivability to overcome it is Ludwig (who I both hate and want and know I will never get in equal measure)

I agree. I have no problem with his survivability, using him together with Mother North, Gullinbursti or Prof Lidenbrock. As I don’t have cLeo, he is my only option for yellow EDD, but it’s not that I have ever been dissatisfied with it. My team against purple titans functions very well with him. There, the Prof is helping him. Just as you, I emblemed him on attack path, but also LB-ed him, and now he has a very respectable 930 as attack.

He also comes out in raids, whenever I want to stack yellow. The combination of either Jackal + Uraeus or Jackal + Joon is destruction itself, even against the new heroes. There are bad boards, or days when my fingers appear particularly fat on the phone screen, but my yellow(ish) team is one of my best in raids. Here he is almost always combined with Mother North, but if not, I bring out the Prof or the Pig. Rogue talent plus overheal are quite good to keep him alive.

So he is not useless at all for me.

I look at the summoning odds, and I never expect to pull a 5*…

I guess I’m “chasing” Bauchan*, second Jackal*, and ofc I’d welcome any new hero from the Challenge Festival. I was saving gems for Santa’s Challenge, but getting Bauchan is my priority, and I already have all the Christmas 4* and 3* too.

He can’t elude me for the third (possibly fourth) challenge event, can he?! :face_with_monocle:

*Bauchan and Jackal are both extra special heroes to me. Jackal has helped me do 100k+ titan hits. Plus I got Panther hoping to pull a second Jackal last November; This year, I got Black Knight while hoping to get Bauchan. :exploding_head:

I should have enough gems for a 10x. I figure Bauchan has already eluded me for months (although not from a huge number of pulls), it is possible it can happen again. :rofl:

also reporting out to the group on C-Frank. Took him in war versus a Freya tank. He fired after Kiril and Isarnia, and I was pleased to see the stacks (frost damage, mana slow) on everyone after, hee hee. Take that Ariel (who was in the wings). Nice perk!

Thanks for the report on C. Frank. He’s my current blue project. Gonna emblem for the barbarian side, but good to know the costume version has good usefulness also.

A bit of news from da Weasel today. Our alliance finally got our crap together and took down a 4-star titan, which we’ve only done a handful of times, and the next titan to spawn was a five-star Thunder Unicorn. Our first five-star titan and first rare titan EVER. I had always said I’d save my titan flasks in case we ever got a rare, so I flasked the heck out of the thing to kill it. Didn’t get the scope - the rest of my alliance hasn’t reported in yet - but it was still a fun thing to be able to do after over three years. Wouldn’t have needed so many flasks if it had been red or purple, probably, but beggars can’t be choosers.
