Based on the V50 notes, it lists under S1 costumes for Epic heroes is more to come. I wonder which ones will get costumes, also, is 3* heroes getting left out?
That sounds so much more promising than the reality…

Why the lock on troops?
It was a misunderstanding of the update, I saw the more recent update post from P4F which only mentioned heroes and did not mention troops or the dynamic ham cost changes, which Elliot corrected me on.
Essentially this QoL change became simply that, just feed more heroes/troops only and no opportunity to save ham unfortunately.
Should v50 now be live on Android?
Android rollout has started but it’s not complete yet. The update will come gradually to every device.

Usually the last devices could update only on Friday or Saturday.
So if you do not see the update yet, then it is still ok.
Yes the complete rollout for normal updates (other than urgent bug/security fix update) takes about a week or so.

Now that v50 is out, this is what I see
Cost of feeding 1 troop = 22k
Cost of feeding 10 troops = 220k
Cost of feeding 20 troops = 440k (note the level has already increased on the troop with no ham cost increase, yet)
Cost of feeding 21st troop = 27k (cost increased here - so 20 is the new cost limit?)
For heroes
Cost of feeding 1 hero = 9600
Cost of feeding 10 heroes = 96k
Cost of feeding 17 heroes = 163k (last hero before level increase, cost is still 9600 per feeder)
Cost of feeding 18th hero = 10k (cost increased here with hero level up)
So it seems there’s different mechanics for troops vs heroes or am I missing something?
No you are missing the point that your first 10 troops weren’t enough for a level up. Therefore, it’s still the same ham per feeder cost for troops 11 to 20.
It’s exactly the same mechanic for heros lvl. The ham per feeder cost is updated on the 11th, 21th and so on, feeder.

We can see the ham cost per feeder is only updated on the 11th, 21th… feeders.
HOWEVER, just like before when we were stuck to feed 10 feeders at the time, it’s important to select the feeders in order from the least-xp-giving one first to the most-xp-giving one last to minimize ham cost.
I did follow that order in my experiment but see this picture where I just picked feeders from the top to the bottom of my roster.
Again, this is just a QoL update to click on “level up” only once instead of n times. But the cost mechanic is still exactly the same and thus the same ham cost minimization technique has to be used.
I wished the game would “use” the feeders in the right order to minimize cost though, whichever the order the player selected them, instead of just following the player’s selection order. That would have been an even greater QoL update by removing another cognitive load off of the player’s mind.
Well, how about leveling up HERO just like leveling up TROOP, I mean, leveling up special skills directly in some certain levels?
JUST REMOVE THE CHANCES, hate this when training 3 stars heroes.
