🧪 The Beta Beat (v31) – Ninja Tower Event; Alliance Member Online/Offline Indicator; New ROUND 4 Season 3 Heroes; Jul/Aug/Sep/Oct/Nov/Dec HOTM – Sharing the Big Picture on What's Going on in Beta

NOTE: Please do not, under any circumstances, share IMAGES OR VIDEOS from Beta in this or any public Forum thread. Violations can cause players to lose their Beta accounts, or threads to be closed down.

 What’s this all about?

Often players on the Forum wonder about what’s going on in Beta.

If you’re a regular reader of the Forum, then you’ll find that there’s actually abundant conversation about what’s going on in Beta at any given time.

And that’s actually allowed!

What’s restricted is images and videos — but discussion is ok:

The challenge is that information is often scattered around the Forum. I’ve created The Beta Beat to help centralize it for those who are interested.

The Beta Beat is a series of threads which are evolving as I get feedback on what’s helpful to players.

My main focus is giving some high-level guidance of what’s going on in current testing, so players outside of Beta can be better informed.

Like Beta itself, this thread is experimental and will evolve based on your feedback.

Information from Beta is frankly often mostly useless, so don’t get too attached.

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that heroes and features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release.

That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any information from Beta — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of hero skills to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to hero stats to be made, or for large chunks of new functionality to be completely changed.

Often Incomplete Information Circulates

Many of us have seen screenshots and other information shared on LINE, Discord, Facebook, and other groups — often without context or explanation.

These can lead to confusion and misunderstanding.

Often, early Beta information — the least reliable or useful — is circulated…and then updated information is missed.

I’m hoping centralizing some high-level information on the Forum may help to reduce this as well.

What’s Going on in Beta Right Now

IMPORTANT: I wouldn’t get too attached to any information from Beta — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of heroes or functionality to be removed, reworked, or radically changed beyond recognition.

Ninja Tower Event

This event is part of the v31 Beta testing cycle, but is not expected to be released until late 2020.

Alliance Member Online/Offline Indicator

The long requested feature to have a red/green light indicating whether each Alliance Member is online or offline has been added.

It appears in the Alliance Member list as a small red or green circle on the lower left of each avatar box.

While this could be discerned when the War Battlefield was available (at least for members opted in), this new feature will enable seeing who’s online or offline at all times.

I see no indication that players can opt out of this display, so it should be visible for all members.

:left_speech_bubble: Feedback?

I’d love to hear thoughts on whether this information and format is useful, and how you’d like to see information presented in the future. Any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks!

Moderator’s Note

@DaveCozy has offered to assist me with creating Beta Beat threads for new Heroes, so that I can reduce my time spent a bit.

As most of the new content in this first round of Beta is the 4 new Season 3 Legendary Heroes and 3 new Oct/Nov/Dec HOTM, that’ll be most of the updates for this round of Beta.

So please be patient while awaiting updates on them. We don’t want to scare @DaveCozy off.

You don’t want to scare @DaveCozy bot off…

…as a moderator on these forums you should already know that does not apply to the rest of us here.

My goal is to scare all the mods off to reveal to the ignorant forumites how much excrement y’all clean up to make this place presentable.

I’m torn about the online indicator. I wish it would be visible only to the alliance leader as the person in charge of it. I’m afraid it might cause a rift between members and add pressure to the casual players.

I hope I’m wrong though.

Thanks @zephyr1 for all you do. @DaveCozy please be detailed and I’m sure we’ll like you too.

I hope and request that HA be put back into Beta and the time for HA10 be reduced to 4-5 days and S2 and event 4 heroes be added into the pool.

Too early? No, I think not.

So all the new Season 3 heroes are 5*? Shame.

Yep, this round of Beta is basically testing for 7 new Legendary Heroes — the 4 new Season 3, and the Oct/Nov/Dec HOTM.

Good way to get some focus off of the crap from V30 that was just released. “Here’s some shiny new heroes to get your mind off of things”

Most of the heroes look good for now.

This is legit possible as there are people so competitive that they’re basically witch hunters. I suggest SGG give leaders unrestricted access to the indicator/status thingy but players should be able to hide it from non-leaders in the alliance.

Casual players should (ideally) not be in “competitive” alliances and must understand that the experience you take from the game is yours alone. DO NOT ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE PRESSURED!!!

1 to 2 heroes are pretty OP as of current stats. Most likely will be adjusted prior to release.

Also, Telluria better watch out!

Is beta v31 released ?

The indicator can only be visible to everyone. Anything else would hardly be responsible for the members. It should facilitate communication between all members. Granting this to the leadership only one-sidedly would not be consistent. The members would feel monitored from above. The activity of a person can already be controlled by everyone. This shouldn’t be a reason not to install it.

Looks like people are going to get that red sniper they’ve been demanding. Best in the game at current stats. And yet another ranger!

And again, I rise my voice to say that the fact you are doing this free of charge on your free time instead of having someone from SG called “COMMUNITY MANAGER” seems crazy for me.
SG is earning dozens of millions EACH MONTH… Ask for a salary asap for your moderators team…

I am glad for the alliance members online indicator. I’m very active but in a casual alliance, so if anything it might be embarrassing for them to see how much I play, lol. But it would make it easier to coordinate Titan hits and harpoons, that sort of thing, if we know who to address.
