Thanks for anyone’s time and look forward to any advice, especially any seasoned players

You have months of leveling before any kind of team make up will matter. Stay in lower pvp brackets to fill hero chest as easily and often as possible.

Other than that. Ignore pvp unless you want a truly miserable experience.

Hi, and welcome to the forums!

You’re right, this kind of question is asked a lot, but because everyone has different heroes to work with, every answer is different.

  1. Unleveled heroes aren’t very effective. Keep your Training Camps working 24/7 to churn out 1* and 2* “feeders” that you’ll use to level your core heroes. Use TC2 as much as you can; have TC11 (or TC4) running when you’re out of backpacks. TC1 is okay as a faster option to TC11/4.
  2. Work on leveling 5 heroes at a time, one of each color. Give blue feeders to the blue hero-in-training, yellow to yellow, etc. Doing so gives a 20% bonus on the experience and 100% bonus on odds of increasing the special skill level.
  3. Work to get Training Camp 20 built and running. This is the most reliable (and only free) source of 4* and 5* heroes to build your bench.
  4. Build a core of 3* heroes first, then work on 4*. 4* heroes will be the backbone of your team for a year or more. Building up from 3*s will give you enough firepower to get reasonably far through all the rare quests, class trials, raid tournaments, and challenge events, and to do well on titans. Accomplishing these goals well is how you get the rare ascension materials you’ll need to ascend your 4* and 5* heroes to the top tiers.
  5. Any 5* heroes you get should be treasured but left to one side until later–they are tremendously costly to level up, in terms of food, feeders, and rare ascension mats.
  6. Level a hero up to at least the top of the 3rd ascension before shifting focus. Heroes below that mark aren’t very effective.

OK, that’s the generic advise. Let’s look at your roster:

3* teams

  • Red: Nashgar (Jahangir for tournaments)
  • Blue: Gato (Gunnar for tournaments)
  • Green: Hissan (look for Belith)
  • Yellow: [complete with Atman and Bane]
  • Purple: Balthazar

4* teams:

  • Red: Boldtusk (to add to Gormek)
  • Blue: Grimm, then Sonya
  • Green: Gadeirus then Melendor then Caedmon
  • Yellow: Wu Kong then finish Hu, then Li Xiu
  • Purple: Seshat to 3/70, then Tibertus to 3/60, then Rigard to 4/70

Overall, you should be looking to have 30 “war ready” heroes–heroes in 3rd ascension, ideally–for Alliance Wars. (If you’re not in an alliance, find one fast! Titans are the best source of rare ascension materials.) With six attacks, you’ll want six healers. Boldtusk is among the best 4* heroes, and Rigard is the best 4* healer. Melendor and Sabina will add two more. Keep an eye out for 3* Belith and 3* Hawkmoon, who are relatively quick to build, or a 4* Kiril.

Optimizing your team for titan attacks should be a priority, because good performances on bigger titans gives more rare ascension materials (on average, over time). Wu Kong (once he’s leveled up) should be on every titan attack–at least until/unless you get 5* Miki, Tarlak or Ranvir (again, leveled). You also want to bring one of the Ramming Pulverizer Trio (Gormek, Grimm, Tibertus) on every attack–choose among them based on color–so you’ll want all three leveled. Gadeirus is on the list to serve as your defensive tank until you get someone better (probably a 5*).

That should keep you going for a while! Ask questions often. We’re friendly and don’t bite–usually.

@Kerridoc, thanks for the input and advice. I have been reading different forums trying to pick up knowledge. Alot of acronyms and terminology that still figuring out.

This is helpful:

Hey @Romes, You have a solid roster to work on. Smart move to stop spending for now. Follow @Kerridoc’s advice and you’ll enjoy the game. Start with the 3* as it starts to become a grind as you work up to leveling 4/5*. The 5* should wait until you have, minimally, several teams of rainbow (all 5 colors) 4* teams of maxed heroes.

Good Luck and check back in occasionally and let us know how it’s going!! Good Luck!!

@PapaHeavy, thanks. I have started concentrating my resources to my 3* players. Appreciate the advice

@Kerridoc and @PapaHeavy,
So here is an update from my original post. Following your advice, I have been working on my 3*s. Looking for any updated advice on which heroes to focus on based on what I have so far. Appreciate your time and any advice. I have joined an alliance but do not get much feed back on team development.

@Romes As soon as you are done with Tiburtus, level up Proteus asap!! He is very good on offense for raids and wars. Along with boss stages in the campaigns and challenge events on epic and legendary. And he has a vital skill, mana stop. Which is why he is one of the top sought after season 2 4 star heroes. He goes great with any other heroes with a mana cut ability such as Chao, Li Xiu, Leonidas, Azar, Bauchan. The list goes on.

As for your 3 star purples, level Gill-Ra as well. I have her talent grid almost maxed. One more node. She fills three roles, defense down, attack debuffer, and ailment cleanse. Makes sense to go the defense health route as she is slow mana.

@Romes, good to see you back again.
For the 3* finish Valen. Then you want to work on Gunnar and Kailani, Melia, Mnessus, Gil-Ra and Bergen.
Getting into the 4*
1st off finish off Grimm, Gad, Tibs, Boril and Hu Tao since they are all the closest. Plus now you will have all the pulverizers done Grimm, Tibs and Gormek.

Then you are in desperate need of healers, Boldtusk, Rigard, Sabina and Melendor should be priorities. (Rigard/Boldtusk first)

*Once you have a couple healers leveled get Proteus maxed, he is fantastic!!! He will make challenge events and map bosses so much easier and putting him with Li Xiu and/or Chao can really hurt the opponents mana generation. If they can’t fire their specials your team will last a lot longer

You can mix a few snipers/dispellers in too. Caedmon and Sonya. Then the mana controllers, Li Xiu and Chao. Not putting Scarlett at the end for any particular reason just didn’t want to leave her out because she is fast and can really help your team survive, plus she hits like a bus.

Wu will help with your Titan scores immensely. So fit him in if Improving titan scores are something you would like.

You’ve made a ton of progress in such a short time. Your roster is impressive and once you have your 3* and a few 4* finished you will be quite a force. Good Luck and check back in.

****Healers are key to your teams survivability.

I 100% agree with @Aunty_Krauser and @PapaHeavy.
You have Proteus and Rigard (both are very very good for long term).

Thanks @Aunty_Krauser, @PapaHeavy, and @jinbatsu. I will certainly take your advice and appreciate your input. I will hopefully have another update soon!!

@PapaHeavy, @jinbatsu, @Aunty_Krauser, @Kerridoc. Update to my hero roster. Any updated advice? I know some focus was aimed at Rigard but I had so many purple heroes, I tried to even out my teams a bit.

As always, any advice is greatly appreciated! Happy Holidays also, hope everyone had a great one!

Nice progress so far… IMO next project plan (priority left to right):

Red: Scarlett, Colen, Sumitomo, Elena 3.70
Blue: Kiril, Sonya
Green: Caedmon, Little John, Gadeirus
Yellow: Finish Wu Kong, Chao, Li Xiu, Neith 3.70
Purple: Proteus, Rigard, Seshat, Victor, Sabina, Gafar

@Romes Here is what I would personally start on. I will be going in terms of priority in each elements rarity. It is gonna be a bit of an essay so grab some coffee and a bagel.

5 star:
Victor *Reason being because being very fast he can keep up a +30% defense and that can vastly increase survivability.

4 star:
Proteus *Reason being is he is almost maxed and also he has one of the most valuable skills available.
Sabina *You are gonna want to have another healer debuffer available for when you cannot take someone like Melendor into a titan fight.
Gafar *Reason being the health reduction is invaluable when going against healer heavy teams. Especially in field aid wars and he is one of the very few offensive hitting clerics.

3 star

This is a no brainer. Gill-Ra. I have her at +20 going the defense and hp route. And boy she is a tanky girl. I have no regrets embleming her as she is only one of two 3 star cleansers. Other being Roman Tyrum.

5 star

Well seeing as you only have one choice here, Neith. She is a Jane of all trades as she has mana cut, direct damage, and blinding. She is useful if you need all three but cannot stack the holy heroes. At 3-70 she can still be good in most areas of the game.

4 stars

Wu Kong *He is almost maxed so you might as well finish him up.

Li Xiu *She is a fairly tanky mana cutter and even more valuable in her outfit because she becomes rogue. And rogues do not have many if any mana cutters. Granted it is only 10% but even with her at 20% it still only buys you a turn or two to set up no matter which one you use. And she hits everyone on the field.

Chao *Reason being he is the highest single target instant mana cutter that doesn’t need the enemy’s mana bar to be full (looking at you two Hansel and Gretel!). Also he has the ranger tree so he gets the pierce ability which is very useful for defense buffs and Ripostes. He already gets choke defense for a ranger so if you emblem him, go down the attack hp route.

3 stars

Melia *She is a flipping beast when combined with Brienne! Her special’s damage isn’t really anything to write home about but you really just want the increased critical in all honesty. The increased crit combined with the Berserker’s fury is just a sight to behold! I use that combo in any challenge event that doesn’t reflect holy or nature. Bottom line, max her and emblem her to +15 then if you are gonna use her a lot then take her to +20.

Kailani *Utilizing her with Brienne or BK in a titan or Boss fight is really good because the shared damage would beef up everybody’s fury buff. I would say this goes a lot smoother with Brienne than BK because of BK’s taunt mechanic. She is also good to have for buff booster tourneys.

Gan Ju *He and Azar are the only single target mana cutters in the 3 star rarity. So it is good to have at least one of him and Azar maxed for all 3 star related activites.

4 stars

Boril *Good riposte hero to have for high difficulty content on the PvE side. Also he is nearly maxed so max him and emblem him a bit if you want.

Kiril *As I have recommended many times in the past to other players. To encapsulate Kiril would be saying he is a Dragon Banner with heals. He is one of the very few healers alongside Rigard that will see high level play on the PvP side. I am very much anticipating his costume.

Sonya *A good tanky blue dispeller to have and her costume turns her into a attacking team cleanser so if you get her costume in December’s costume quest, then you should level up a dupe if you get one that way you can use both vanilla and costume. I have her maxed on my main and tend to stack her with Grimm when I need two blues on my team.

As for Karil, just feed his bacon to Boril. He could use the food.

4 stars

Gaderius *He is almost maxed so just mop him up. He is good to have for buff booster tourneys where nature is allowed and even better if fire is banned.

Caedmon *Sonya’s equivalent on the nature side except he has companion as his talent. I am wondering if he will be in the next batch of new costumes to be released. His speed being fast and having a good area to ghost tiles means he can keep spitting that dispel very often.

Little John *I flipping love this guy!! He is the one that kept my defense a couple tourneys back in the A rank range. It was when it was 4 star very fast I believe. Anyway, the slow speed might turn you off but he does have high tile damage for a nature hero. Put a mana troop on him and he’ll be set.

Skittleskull (aka Skittles) *She is good to have for the class quests as iirc she is the only attack down for sorcerers. She can neuter the field if she goes off. If you have her outfit, again, useful for class quests.

3 stars

Mnesseus *A good green dispeller to have for 3 star activities. He is a cleric so take him on the class quests as clerics have very few hitters. I took one on my main to +20 going full attack. Alt number one has one at +15.

Brienne *Ah, my main girl Brienne. I take her almost everywhere on my main because she is my only attack booster on that profile. And she works very well against Titans with the spirit link and Berserker’s Fury strat. I use her with green titans and blue titans. My alliance is very casual so the highest titan we have faced is 7 stars.

Berden *He was my sole green sniper for the longest time until I got Mnesseus and Kingston. He is very reliable in all 3 star activites. He is a mini Lianna with attack down.

Get Elena to 3-70 if you lack rings. Other wise max her. She would have been well worth the 5 stars and slow speed if she covered the entire team in riposte buffs imho.

4 stars

Start with Colen then Sumi, then Scarlett. Colen because he is nearly maxed. Sumi because he is a cheaper and way better version of Obakan. Scarlett because of her main target and neighbors attack down special and her high tile damage.

I personally would just keep Azar out of your two 3 star reds. If you had Namahage then I would say keep him too.

Great progress @Romes!!

But you really want to finish Proteus and possibly start working on Gafar if your stuck on Seshat. Rigard is a healer with a VERY long shelf life. He’s another BT/Kiril, probably a bit longer shelf life than either. So you’ll want to level him. Healers/cleansers are very useful and a must have for progressing in the game. If anything concentrate on healers. They keep your team alive!! brilliant observation, I know!! Let me toss Sabina in their, the purple Melendor. Healers, healers, healers!!

Funny you have the same Dark hero problem I do. It’s almost all I get. But if they are good, and useful, level them.

Now Li Xiu is a great Holy to level, tank or flank shes tough and cuts the entire opposing teams mana by 20%!! So consider her. Arman is a useful 3* to work on when you have the time.

Kiril is a must level, refer to my brilliant observations on healers. Sonya in the Ice category is a must level along with Caedmon and Gade in the nature!! Hisan is worth the material in your spare time too.

Once again let the 5* wait. You will gain more AM’s from a deep bench of 3/4* than from a handful of partially leveled 5*

You’ve gotten great advice above. I didn’t read but saw who commented and they won’t steer you wrong. Thanks for checking back in and glad to see you are doing so well.

P.S If you are looking for a tough training alliance. We have the cooties and crabs under control but the ■■■■ space ghosts showed up…anyway check out my Voidbringers post. Just don’t let it scare you away. Mostly no one is contagious any longer and the space ghosts are just a minor annoyance until we eat them!!

Only thing I would disagree with from the above is starting to work on Victor. He’s a solid hero but until you have Rigard, Sabina, Proteus and Gafar leveled leave him alone. He will take all their feeders and AM’s. You can have 3 of the 4* maxed to finishing Victor…I believe you know which one is better for where you are? Victor will always be there, breathing on your neck. Just throw garlic at him until you are ready to take him on

@Aunty_Krauser, @jinbatsu, @Mgla, @PapaHeavy, @Kerridoc. Another Hero lineup progress update. Here is where I am sitting at now. Still gather AM so I have several heroes sitting and waiting but as always, any updated advice is greatly appreciated. I have been focusing on what everyone has been telling me so I do appreciate your time. I do have a question. I have gathered enough AM for two ascensions. Opinions between using mats on Proteus or Rigard and Kiril or Sonya?

@Romes Shoots man that are some tough choices because all four are very good. If you aren’t lacking any healers, then I would go with Proteus and Sonya but if you only need one healer then you could go with one of two choices. Proteus and Kiril or Rigard and Sonya. Depends on what healer aspect you need more. Need a team cleanser, go with Rigard and Sonya. Need a healer who is a dragon banner, go with Kiril and Proteus.

@Aunty_Krauser, right now the healers I have are Melendor, BT, Gads for 4* that are maxed and Belith and Hawkmoon for 3* that are maxed

IMO, Proteus and Kiril.
Rigard and Sonya can wait, ascend as soon as have the mats.

Notes: Rigard and Sonya is sturdy at 3.60 in your project area.
