[Suggestion] Costume Meta / Business model , 3* / 4* costumes and Retraining 3* / 4* heroes or Small team, reusing code, Spend depth and helping balance 4* heroes especially for Class quests
Summary
Increase spend depth, engagement, retain players, and monetization by reusing code to add
the possibility of costumes 3* / 4*, Map Season 2 / 3 summons 3* / 4*, and old Challenge event summons 3* / 4* heroes to Hero Academy by
retraining 3*, and 4*, heroes
With the bonus of helping balance 4* heroes, especially for Class quests and
the intention of adding more 3* / 4* costumes to increase spend depth
Note: Merge if too similar to previous suggestions
Reusing code
Since all the code is already in the game for 5* heroes, this would have a huge ratio of development cycles to spend depth
This would help increase spend depth, engagement with Class quests, retain players, and monetization through FOMO
Especially during Map Season monthly event Atlantis Rising and Valhalla Forever
see notes for FOMO
Spend depth
Hi SGG Design team,
It is no secret that several of your recent decisions add increasing spend depth ( grindy -ness ) to Empires to compensate for small team, investor returns and freemium business model
One of you best spend depth ideas is forcing players to level two base heroes to take advantage of costumes ( see notes )
Classic 5* costumes
SGG added 1 in 20 chance of getting a costume when a Classic 5* hero results from HA10 retraining for 5* heroes
This allows Classic 5* costumes from Hero Academy now that costume chamber is less frequent
Map Season 2 summons 5* heroes
SGG added Map Season 2 summons 5* heroes to HA10 retraining for 5* heroes ( looking at you Ariel and Tarlak )
This allows Atlantis 5* costumes from Hero Academy now that Atlantis coins are so rare
Wilbur and Guardian Falcon
Wilbur is a pseudo 5* hero ( see notes )
Guardian Falcon is a pseudo 5* hero ( see notes )
Both are very hard to get currently but 5* heroes from Map Season 2 summons, and Guardian summons, can both be gotten from HA10 retraining for 5* heroes
Adding costumes to both would significantly increase player interest and account spend depth
Alchemy Lab v2.0
Alchemy Lab v2.0 shows a building can have more recipes than levels
4* hero retraining
Add a new Hero Academy recipe that retrains 4* heroes ( HA4*+ )
Classic 4* costumes
HA4*+ would have a 1 in 20 chance of getting a costume when a Classic 4* hero results from HA4*+ retraining for 4* heroes
This allows Classic 4* costumes from Hero Academy now that costume chamber is less frequent
Costumes and Map Season 2 summons 4*
HA4*+ would have Map Season 2 summons 4* heroes ( looking at you Wilbur and Proteus )
This allows costumes for Atlantis 4* heroes from Hero Academy now that Atlantis coins are so rare
Spend depth would be even better if 4* heroes from Map Season 3 summons were added
Costumes and Old Challenge event summons
HA4*+ would have Old Challenge event summons 4* heroes
This allows costumes for Old Challenge event 4* heroes from Hero Academy now that old Challenge events are being removed
3* hero retraining
Add a new Hero Academy recipe that retrains 3* heroes ( HA3*+ )
This is the same as HA4*+ above, but for 3* heroes ( chance of costumes, Map Seasons 2 / 3 summons, old Challenge event heroes, etc. )
Letting players get 3* heroes like Muggy, Gato, Melia, etc.
Costumes 3*
HA3*+ would allow the introduction of costumes for the included 3* heroes
Balancing 4* heroes and Class Quests
Devs have mentioned Classic 4* heroes are not balanced ( see notes )
This is even worse for Class Quests
Adding retraining, with a chance to get costumes ( changes class ), or past Map Season heroes, or old Challenge event heroes would really help with Class quests ( looking at you Trials of Piety - see notes )
If HA4*+ retraining 4* heroes is added, even more classes could be added to 4* heroes as costumes are rolled out for both old Challenge event 4* heroes and old Map Season 4* heroes
I think the biggest problem for 3-4* retrains is that there are vastly fewer of them in the game compared to 5* something around 200 5* heros and only 60 or so 3*
