Why does every merged post state that a moderator “split this topic” then in the description conveys that they merged the posts into another thread?
@zephyr1 just likes to complicate things to make us ask questions to keep him from having too much thumb twiddling time
My best guess anyways
Additionally, should there be a note above merged topics that say “This comment was merged from another topic” or something?
This is functionality of Discourse, the Forum software.
They have their own Forum at meta.discourse.org if you want to give feedback on the software.
Go to a forum to find a forum to talk about another forum
Anyone got a robert downey jr gif?
I dunno, this seems more like a Yo Dawg meme to me.
Split is the official term Discourse uses because we can also select certain posts to merge to another topic too, not necessarily all posts. If we do that, we are splitting the conversation in that sense.
Does it really matter what words/terms we use as long as the meaning is clear? Look at it this way: most of us in forum say Rigard cleanses his team, but the game terminology actually says he dispels status ailments from his allies.
Same thing at the end of the day no?
Never go full moderator?
I believe that Tuxedo Winnie the Pooh is more meta
If everyone is on the same page now, shall we close the topic?
I believe it should be split into another topic and then closed.
Or split and merged…
