Something SGG DID Right (Positive thread)

While we tend to think of SG being rather inactive on certain changes being implemented in the game, it does happen.

Remember the days of alliance wars when many posts were about alliance shuffling to game the system?

Back then, the win/loss record was tied to the alliance. Some players would game the system by dissolving the alliance and start a new one, which ‘resets’ the win/loss history, so they get easier opponents to quickly fill the war chest.
Rinse and repeat.

It was proposed the way to close this loophole was to associate the win/loss history with the player rather than the alliance. This way, no matter where a player goes they have their own win/loss history they carry into an alliance. The win/loss history can no longer be reset.

It took this thread to finally attract SG’s attention to the war shuffling strategy and the mismatches it can create. Although the method to close the loophole was proposed elsewhere.

While SG didn’t close the loophole because of the proposed idea, and the solution they chose, if the correct people complain it can make a difference.

And since the implementation of the win/loss history being a player metric rather than an alliance metric, we haven’t seen complaints of war shuffling mismatches. I haven’t anyway…
