So, what is your "A" team for?

I was prompted to start this thread because the question had been asked in a GenDiscuss post and did not want to threadjack.

Is there any question that it could be anything other than your defense team?

Your def team is the only one you have no control over once it is set. When you are attacking, you always have the ability to tweak an existing team or, as in later stages of AW, you make them up on the fly.

Other than the newest player who has yet to be able to raid, I cannot see this not holding true.

That might be logical, but itā€™s perhaps the least exciting answer.

Putting more effort into offensive players (apart from friar tuck, who is offensive in a different wayā€¦) makes for more exciting and rewarding play.

Youā€™ll probably be better at titans and winning offensive raids, which I would argue is more satisfying.

Ok, you will struggle to keep your cups, but as long as you donā€™t descend into a gibbering frenzy about that, itā€™s no big deal most of the time.

My next pair of gloves is going to Wu or Boril.
And theyā€™re not going to Boril!

My ā€˜Aā€™ Team is my primary offensive team

I agree with Lesley Annia. I donā€™t know too many people that get excited about taking Kashrek and Boril into Titan fights or completing rare quests. Offense gets you loot which is how you progress. Defense helps with cups but unless youā€™re on the fringe of a higher cup tier thereā€™s no real benefit to having higher cups other than bragging rights.

Mine also offense team for raidsā€¦

Ha

Mine also offensive.

So, are you all saying you have only one offensive team, or are you saying you love to attack?

Attacking every titan with one ā€œAā€ team is not done. Using exactly the same team in every raid must mean a short bench. This can only mean you all mean a generic attack team.

Right?

I have 6 fully levelled 4* and 4 on the way.

So yer, my offense is fairly static.

I tag in one or two ā€˜juniorā€™ members.

Or sometimes use a good 3* to colour stack for a titan.

And your def team is the same team?

Until a certain point in the game I am sure everyones #1 team is both offense and defense. Unless you spend a boatload of money you will need to wait for heroā€™s as was clearly pointed out.

I have 6 fully levelled 4* and 4 on the way.

Hey Bud,

By ā€œAā€ team, are you referring to your Team 1 that usually gets defaulted to when attacking? If so, then I like to set this as my grinding team because grinding (usually 9-1) is by far the thing I am doing more often than anything else in this game. Your defense team you get to set, so I usually will make that my Team 5 so it is out of the way, and then teams 2-4 are various frequently used titan teams. But since I want to get my level grinding done as quickly as possible, I set that team as the most efficient squad to get it done. Seems to work pretty well for me. Hope this helps, and good luck!

Are there Rules? e.g., I have a defense team that I change one or two heroes out to make my offense teamā€¦can 3 base. Heroes + 2 optionals count?

Unless you have a boatload of heros that is usually how it works to be honest.

I often drop in a Riposter and second healer for defence, but thereā€™s a good deal of crossover.

At some point in team development, the OPā€™s question isnā€™t meaningful. Best team for what purpose?

I have 16 fully leveled 5*, about 24 fully leveled 4*. So I put out an ā€œAā€ team for defense, but I have different ā€œAā€ teams against each color titan. For raiding I often try whacky arrangements to test out possible synergies for wars, so Iā€™m not usually attacking with what most people would call my ā€œAā€ team. Likewise in wars, because of the no-reuse rule, Iā€™m never bringing the strongest team, but instead one that I think is sufficient to get the job done.

Mine is my farming team

So, was this a trick question?

As I stated at the beginning, I was pondering a response in another thread. A poster had opined loudly and proudly about how a particular hero would be an ā€œAā€ team member.

Really, an A team. I know I donā€™t have one, and I am not sure I ever will. If I were to get to #1 on the leaderboard and quit, maybe then.

There are heros that pretty much fit ibto any team and could be conaidered an ā€œA-teamā€ hero.

Zeline is one of those heros for example.
Gravemaker too.

My main farming team does not contain any 5* heroes. Their animations are too slow, and they arenā€™t needed for anything under province 15-20ish(?).

Itā€™s currently Boldtusk, Li Xiu, Tiburtus, Grimm, Caedmon. (Attack buff, hit all, hit up to 3, up to 3, fast green hitter)

My defense team is currently:
Kiril, Li Xiu, Cyprian, Li Xiu, Marjana

For other scenarios, it changes.
90% of the time, I use 1-color teams for raiding (including a 3* for 2 colors).

Titans: 2-5 strong color (always includes attack buffer, defense breaker, Wu Kong).
*No Wu on rare yellow titan

I guess I donā€™t really have an A team. My defense team is set to team 4 since I never touch that one. Itā€™s definitely not my strongest team since I just have a team that will keep me above 1800. Cups donā€™t really matter to me except that I stay in platinum. Only have one 5* past last ascension, not max yet, so not going to push into diamond anytime soon. I will start once I get a few 5*s leveled up. Team 1 is for offensive raids I always switch heroes to deal with the defense so nobody is ever constant on that team. Team 2 I use to keep red/blue/green heroes that I often use for raids/titan up near the top so I donā€™t have to scroll down, I arrange mine in elemental because I like the colors lined up lol. Team 5 is also constantly changing since that is my titan team. Team 3 is my farming team so mostly AoE and Delilah.
