I’m both embarrassed and amazed that I somehow never made use of silencing heroes (Peters, Tettukh) until very recently.
My excuse is that I never drew Peters until the most recent Challenge Festival, and even though I have Tettukh on all the accounts, I ignored him because I favor fast heroes.
@RandaPanduh 's recent comment that she uses multiple Tettukhs made me reconsider.
I’m delighted to report that my baby Alt got a 24-point cleanup in last night’s 3K war on my 12th flag using four unleveled 5-star heroes (no healer) and a second-tier Tettukh! I just kept silencing Rigard until everyone else was dead. Hah!
So, silence really is golden!
ETA I have one Proteus (but he’s not a true silencer) and one Lepiota who I do use, but the four-star silencers are a lot easier to obtain. Go Tettukh!
@Kenji69666 Santa was my ride or die for a couple of years until this happened. I put all my emblems on Elizabeth and never looked back. Now I’m adding emblems to Yang Mai instead of Santa. Poor Santa.
I got Merlin in the Challenge Festival too. Seems like he hasn’t aged well and he’ll probably gather a lot of dust until I get really bored.
But Zocc (again, not a true silencer) has served me really well for controlling Special attacks.
@Chadmo Hansel and Gretel!!! I left Hansel behind when emblems came out. Can’t emblem everybody. Ugh. And I did draw a Gretel somewhere but never worked on her.
Thanks for the reminders!
ETA: just looked up Hansel and he’s Cleric class. That explains everything. I am super Cleric-heavy on my main account and the emblems went to two Vivicas, Quartz, Alexandrine, C. Rigard, Candy, C. Hawkmoon and Mnesseus. OMG they’re all healers except Mnesseus. That explains why I struggle so badly in Bloody Battle.
Elizabeth is awesome. Will do 30 pulls if she is featured this underwild, but I know I won’t get her or any s4 5* anyway.
Still, there is Santa and there is costume Santa. And I have costume version. Maybe not better than Elizabeth but he can’t be effectively countered on offense and on defense could represent real problems for offensive team
Yes, I was fortunate to get Hansel early in the game and he made me able to go so much further. He was me first hero to LB too, I use him all the time.
I just got Peters - His skill works differently right? It won’t get resisted by Clerics, only Monks?
I’ve been trying to get this point out on the forum… for a while now! I’m not the spender I once was. Started playing late 2018, and through 2019 I was a $75/month spender. Since I don’t do that anymore, I have relied HEAVILY on my silence and mana control heroes. Peters, Hansel, Tettukh are all great, but I love yellow. Pulled Onatel when she was HOTM, and has been my most used hero sense. Have also been a big fan of Li Xiu, Neith, and more recently Chao, with and without costume. Also use Proteus and Merlin.
Because I don’t have all the new heroes, I have started to LB and emblem many of these silence and mana control heroes, as it is my only chance to compete with these newer heroes. Their amazing specials don’t matter as much if they can’t use them!
Cheers to your new found love of silence using heroes!
No, Peters skill does get resisted by clerics as well, because the talent is resistance to specials that prevent use of special skills in addition to specials that affect mana. Still, i used to run Peters a lot. A little less because i got Tettukh who does the same for a turn longer with poison damage, although he is average instead of fast.
This seems to fit here… Peters or Tettukh, for those that have both? I ‘didn’t summon today’ cough (Spoiler alert, I totally did summon despite my resolution not to) and added Tettukh to my stable, but already have Peters at 3/60
Same boat here. All my Cleric Emblems go to healers: C.Viv, Ariel, Grazul, Kunchen, MN, and C.Rigs. Nothing left over for attackers like Hansel or Grimble.
I really like mana controllers and silencers. I always use Proteus when an enemy is much stronger and I need more survivability. A week ago I finished my Tettukh and I will emblem him for sure. His silence is great. I’m still waiting for other mana controllers like Hensel, Gretel, Peters or Merlin. Costumed Chao is also great.
Mana controllers helped me as much as riposters in many difficult map stages and quests. Thankfully we can manage without top hitter. I like both strategies: taking strong snipers and just nuke everything within your reach in seconds or block and silence heroes and slowly torture them with tiles to death
Spot on. They can be especially valuable when weak alliance members attempt war cleanups of strong heroes. You can ghost a target, control its mana or silence it and then hit it directly for relatively effective results.
