Purpose of this thread is to facilitate guesses, discussion & thoughts about what the theme of the Upcoming Season 4 will be, based on the Hero Information revealed in Beta V35.2.
Looks like we will go on an epic adventure and this season may get more of the steampunk/modern look rather than the fantasy theme of the last two seasons.
Aren’t there copyright problems with some of the characters?
It seems to be Steampunk/Victorian literature based on the last four. Zenobia is also a character in Conan Conan the Barbarian - Wikipedia by Robert E. Howard. No idea on Lepiota.
Lepiota is the name of a giant mushroom, homage to Journey to the Center of the Earth I think
And the stories/characters are definitely already in public domain and hence not copyrighted. It’s only through Disney trying to control Mickey Mouse that the copyright law keep getting extended longer and longer
From Google, works are protected 95 years in the US. Elsewhere in the world it’s 70 years past the death of the author.
Since this will probably be steampunk, I wonder if cDomitia will cameo as a map stage boss like some elves did in Season 3
That’s current copyright law. Back in the 19th and early 20th Century it was 36 years.
All of this is public domain (at least in countries with the concept). There are a few oddities — Peter Pan has a perpetual copyright in the UK as an example— but pretty much anything from the 18th or 19th century is now solidly public.
Proposed stats look incredibly high. More heros to render current rosters to the archive. I can’t keep up with the rate of spending needed to stay meta. And I’ve spent a lot to date
Looks like we’re getting something like S2. Something based on fiction than mythology. Looking forward to Phileas and Aouda. I loved the novel they were in.
Hm, I’m not so excited spontaneously. Too ‘modern’ for me. But I like to be positively surprised. I had the feeling that in the discussions so far, greek mythology was the favorite.
Around The Season 4 World in 12 Months
Our heroes embark on a new journey into a Steampunk World. They must aid Phileas Fogg to race across the Steampunk World in 12 months. Many strange places of mysteries and danger shall they encounter before completing their adventure!
The power creep in the new heroes is noticeable shall we say But I really like the idea of steampunk/Jules Verne as theme, Domitia costume fits right in, as do the goggles of Karil And let’s be honest, the whole of characters we have, is already not strictly fantasy/medieval in nature (Christmas characters anyone?). So I don’t think it’s a stretch.
Aouda : jules vernes, around the earth in 80 days
Lepiota : it's a positionous mushroom in French
Zenobia : conquer many territories around the Mediterranean sea
Captain Nemo : jules vernes, under the sea
Dr. Moreau : HG Wells
Professor Lidenbrock : jules vernes , around the earth in 80 days
Phileas Fogg : jules vernes, around the earth in 80 days
Jules Vernes and HG Wells wrote mysterious adventure books .
I would think a mystérious adventure around the Mediterranean Sea involving undergroung, railways and under the ocean. But most importantly Jules Vernes heroes always work together as a team. To succeed the missions involve cooperations. Does it means, it’ll be a team adventure ?
In 80 days around the world, travel is the main idea with any type of motion, but their is no fight in Jules Vernes’ books. They are misterious, little bit SciFi based.
For sure, No God (Grec / Vicking / etc) in this version, just normal people leaving extraordinatry adventures
i would absolutely love that. And i wouldn’t leave behind Miss Marple and her knitting wit, she pierces to oblivion every enemy with her knitting tools.
That would be amazing. And her special skill could also include: Underestimation , enemy cannot avoid Miss Marple’s attacks. Harmless, fluffy old lady, and all that
