It’s important to remember that Seasonal Event Heroes have extremely low summoning odds. No amount of summoning will guarantee a Seasonal Event Hero.

On average, in a 10-pull, you have a 56.6% chance of summoning Rudolph.

But that statistic can lead our minds astray in exactly how our odds play out as we continue summoning.

Some useful insights:

  • 81 times out of 100, you’ll get Rudolph by pull 20 (5,200 gems)
  • 96 times out of 100, you’ll get Rudolph by pull 40 (10,400 gems)

Putting that in Perspective

  • 19 out of every 100 people won’t get Rudolph by the 20th pull
  • If 1 Million players each summoned 20 times, 190,000 of those players wouldn’t get Rudolph
  • 4 out of every 100 people won’t get Rudolph by the 40th pull
  • If 1 Million players each summoned 40 times, 40,000 of those players wouldn’t get Rudolph

:star2: Epic Hero Tokens Can Be Used for Seasonal Summoning

The Seasonal Summons replaces the regular Epic Hero Summons.

Because of that, unlike Challenge Event Summons, the Summoning Portal for Seasonal Events allows using saved up Epic Hero Tokens that can otherwise normally only be used for Epic Hero Summons.

That makes Seasonal Events the only place you can currently use Epic Hero Tokens for a chance at non-Season 1 heroes.

Many people regard the Christmas heroes as the best Season Heroes, and therefore prefer to save their Epic Hero Tokens for December or early January during this Santa’s Challenge Event. For more discussion of this, please see: What is the best Seasonal Summons?

You’ll also have the same chance at the HOTM as usual when using Epic Hero Tokens.

Because Santa’s Challenge 2019 is expected to run from through all of December into the beginning of January, you should have an opportunity to Summon while either HOTM is available.

Last 4* or lower hero in the game I don’t have. So close! Using my EHT’s. I hope I get him. I’m much less worried than I would be about a 5*. 8% isn’t bad at all.

I’d love Mother North, but I’m not chasing her. With only a handful of summons, I’m most likely not getting her. I hope you get her!

I got Rudolph off a second single pull.

In a vacuum, he’s a solid 3* hero with a good ability. In reality, however, there currently isn’t a significant niche for him for higher end players. If you want a red for challenge events you’re rocking Namahage. For raid tourneys Rudy is outshone by Namahage in buff booster and Bauchan in VFast (and probably a push with Namahage in this format as well). That said, I’m keeping one for variety and, come on, he’s Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer

4 pulls gave 3* feeders and a Rudolph. I really was surprised to see his defense so low, thought he was better than that. I’ll keep him since he’s unique though. Hopefully I’ll find other opportunities to get some winter heroes on my roster this month, I’d like Buddy or MN, but not going to pull like I have in the past. Also I want to try and get Kage if he shows for Atlantis later this month.

I saw today I’m not the only one who fed Rudolph. I didn’t know back then about tournaments (who knew?). Would be nice to pull him again, but imo a duo or trio of Namahage is much better in attack; great skill and family bonus.

I just pulled Rudolph. Is he something like a better Azar?

Family Bonus won’t work with the same character.

Rudolph is equally good as Namahage in my opinion cause his minions do damage, too. And his minions helped me in the events to defeat enemies with less health so that I don’t have to use another tile or special to clear a wave on time.

Both are great and I use them both a lot, and nearly always in rare events.

My 8 EHT yielded 1 Buddy, 2 Rudolph, and fodder. My daughter said she would be very upset if I made one of the reindeer into food lol. I was planning on keeping one, but I guess I am keeping them both.
