Is this mechanism supposed to be a “balancing” device for AW gameplay?
I certainly hope not as it certainly seems to sway the advantage to the defender.
The defense just sits there, cannot choose which shields the fire, and is passive. The revenge bar is indeed a balancing mechanism.

Not 100% sure if it is meant for balance or to make it different from raids. But it makes for better game play
