Now we know that pale grey may probably be an ice/nature/holy chest, while normal grey fire/dark.

Itā€™s the stripe at the top. I had the same thing on my alt - was a dark chest.

The second one looked like an iPad photo, the first ones shared were from iPhone.

Had this both on my main and the alt, and there was significant difference between the two, not sure why, but the iPhone was the lighter grey, whereas the iPad was was same color.

Sizing and the bar in the middle of the lid though were different on both.

The shade of gray indicates the type of chest.

@koko, yours looks like yellow.

Yes. This one really light indeed compare to posted above.

so:
yellow = really light
red = pretty dark (though not quite as dark as the normal chests?)
blue = intermediate gray
dark = should be very dark :slight_smile:
green = ?

I donā€™t accelerate raids because I get cups too high and canā€™t find ham-rich targets.

I accelerate monsters whenever I have full world flags and am going to farm the map. Monster count/flag on quests is usually low, so I typically donā€™t use quests or events to fill an accelerated monster chest.

@Elpis why your titan chest grey and have counter when its filling up? Is it because you are not in alliance at that time? Iā€™m curious because I have never change alliance yet.

Yep, when you change alliance you have a 12 hours cooldown, so even if you take down a titan it didnā€™t count.

This is to prevent mercs to fill a titan chest even in a single day (how it used to be sometimes ago)

mine was an iphone and not as color differentiated as others. but it had the stripe. thatā€™s what i look for.

The stripe tell you that itā€™s a elemental chest, and if you add the pale color you even know that itā€™s probably holy/nature/ice.

You probably canā€™t saw a difference on yours because it was dark.

Probably dark/fire has not chromatic difference, thats what i want to say before.

A few things:
Good catch on the timer chest graphic!

It seems like everyone is very interested in the rare chest frequency I found, but donā€™t forget that I also included data on (estimated) drop rates for valuable items! I will try to update this post once I hit 500 chests. I also have data on my Mystic Vision drops during this time frame. If anyone is interested in that Iā€™ll make another post.

I usually skip monster chests as well, but every once in a while Iā€™ll skip the raid chest timer.

Regarding timers, does anyone know for sure how the skips work? I havenā€™t fully looked into it, but it seems like you get 1 skip every 8 hours, with a max accumulation of 3? Can anyone help me confirm this?

I agree that this seems like the most cost effective use of gems for patient people and those that spend a little every month. I usually only buy the event deals and low cost special offers, and I havenā€™t struggled to keep enough gems to continue skipping.

Finally, I also recorded whether I opened a monster or raid chest for each one. Using the ā€œvalue methodā€ in my original post it doesnā€™t appear that one is more valuable than the other (<1 gem average value difference).
