That number shows the number of turns until the enemy will use their regular attack. In your screenshot, the Dark Lord would hit after your next turn.
I’m not sure I understand this part of your question. Can you explain more what you mean?

These posts should help:
There are some heroes with specials that only affect nearby allies. For example, Kashhrek heals himself and adjacent allies. These heroes should be positioned in one of the middle three slots to get the maximum benefit from them.
Likewise, many offensive specials target one enemy and adjacent enemies. Since heroes in the outer slots only have one hero next to them, they’re less likely to be hit with the splash from these specials. So it can help to put defensively-weak heroes in the two out…
I have been playing for a couple of months now, I have been reading everything I could on positioning the Heros but it seems most of it is on defensive teams. So my questions are, does positioning matter on offensive teams? Does the center position even tank or are they all hit evenly since you are not being hit by tiles? I know some would be affected such as a hero that does splash damage on nearby or buffs nearby only. Also I understand that if you are autoing provinces that they will fire…
Other than the things you’ve already mentioned, the positioning of heroes does not matter on offense.
The positions are usually referred to as “tank” for the center position, “flank” for the two positions adjacent to the tank, and “wing” for the outer 2 positions.
