Every now and then someone says a hero sucks/is overpowered, and then someone appears who says “that’s how it is, not every hero gonna be gud”.
Now how about taking a look at the 5* heroes (feel free to add your lower * hero ideas, let’s be inclusive :D) and trying to make them all desirable? Wouldn’t it be cool if Lianna wasn’t automatically the best green and everyone who didn’t get Athena didn’t hold off on rolling blues until she returns?
Like I said before, I think that getting any 5* hero should feel good. And yes, they won’t all be just-as-good-as, but I firmly believe they can all be good in their own regards and exciting to have and use. That’s how it should be.
Imma start. Some ideas that came to my mind, I’ll go by color through all of them.
RRRED
ELENA
Similar heroes: Cyprian (4), Boril (4)
Primary use: raids (good defense, solid attack)
Buff defensive stats.
I think she’s a fun hero to use, the only riposte 5*, but I rarely ever see her (as opposed to Cyprian and Boril) and I think it’s because she’s just too paper. A riposte hero cannot stand in the back of the team, they’re useless there. If she got a little love in defense stat department, I think she would really begin to shine. Riposte can be dispelled, remember, and she will never be a good Titan killing hero.
AZLAR
Primary use: raid defense
Make trophies matter.
I don’t see him often, even though he’s a beast (literally too). My guess would be that it’s because he’s only real niche is raid defense and he’s not worth investing in? I don’t think I would, personally. Raid defense is such a small part of the game, and also the most passive one of all. DoT taking time to do damage means he’s not great for events, AoE will never work on titans… I honestly don’t know what could help the kitty without ruining his identity. Maybe once Trophies start to matter he will see more use?
MARJANA
Primary use: jack of all trades
I think she’s good at what she does. I see her often enough and wouldn’t mind rolling her at all. A fast single target hero without subpar damage will always be all-around useable. Good investment.
ARES
Primary use: jack of all trades
With how many Aresi (???) there are all over the place, I think he’s doing just fine. The crit buff really makes him a viable attack hero.
Kong, Kestrel, Khagan
I don’t know, I haven’t seen them enough to have any opinion.
BLUE
ISARNIA
Primary use: raids, possibly events
Buff defensive stats a little.
I very rarely see Isarnia, even though on paper she seems really nice. From what I’ve heard from other players her problem is too low defense making her RIP before she gets to act. Ah, the woes of slow heroes. Her defense debuff is obviously invaluable.
ATHENA
Primary use: jack of all trades
She gud.

Primary use: jack of all trades
A good all-around hero I think. Solid damage, some defense. Nothing much to say.
PERSEUS
Primary use: raid attack
Change speed to Fast. Make the healing block apply to target and nearby enemies.
I really don’t like this hero. He seems to be pidgeonholed into raid attack solely though and that’s without being great at it.
- He’s average speed and yet his damage is worse than fast Lianna, Joon, Magni, Sartana, Marjana and the average Domitia.
- He only buffs his own defense against ONE element, that’s… useless? Unless you go against a team of 5 blue heroes or something.
- He only reduces healing received on one enemy… yeah, it can be like “let’s burn this one” strat, but honestly? It seems SO situational. Ye burn that Ares before he heals himself. Or, you know, take Caed/Sonya/Panthero and just dispell that thing.
I mean. I haven’t seen him in the game yet, so I guess I shouldn’t judge too hard, but I would be salty if he was my roll. I don’t like anything about him.
RICHARD
Let’s face it - attack reduction will never be as valuable as defense reduction, because it is basically useless on titans and events, unless someone’s just struggling to stay alive as opposed to pushing for damage, which is the goal.
Additionally, there’s Skittleskull with attack reduction (who also is not liked by anyone lol). This effect is simply boring and underwhelming for a 5* hero.
Richard is a plot hero, he’s the cheery leader yada yada. How about instead of reducing enemy attack he buffed his team? You know, morale and stuff. Also there’s no attack buffer amongst the 5*, right? I’d love to have him with this small change.
Change attack reduction on enemies to attack buff on allies.
THORNE
Thorne is the fella who had a few dedicated “yo my hero SAWKS” topics to him. He’s not great. And on top of it, he’s boring. Lianna is also boring, but she is absolutely the best at what she does so she’s forgiven.
Thorne looks like a massive fella who can take a punch for that flimsy Quintus lurking behind, aye? Make him so. Spirit link would be too powerful for a 5* to have, I think, but look at something deriving from that mechanic:
Add a status effect on Thorne. Once he casts his skill, his allies get a ‘protected’ buff. x% damage they take is reduced by x% and redirected to Thorne instead.
An actual tank!
GRRREEEN
LADY LOCKE
Very underused hero from my observations, even though her design is really interesting. From what I understand (I could be wrong), she cannot recast her skill or the damage ticking is reset to the lowest. Additionally, she takes a long time to get going. That makes her viable basically only in raids. And in raids her skill can be dispelled.
Without hurting her identity, how about making her a real ticking bomb? Get her down quick/control her/dispel her or yo ■■■ is beat.
What I mean is imagine her damage ticks as 1-2-3-4-5-6 with 1 being the weakest damage 6 being the strongest.
Make her skill overlap, no resets. If it doesn’t get dispelled or she gets to cast it again before the original time runs out the damage isn’t reset. So it goes like 1-2-3-4-5-6-6-6-6-youdead. If the effect is removed or falls off it goes back to 1-2-3-4-5-6 of course.
LIANNA
Primary use: everything
Pshaw. Trying to make other heroes elicit the same amount of “yay!” upon rolling as this lady does, lel.
ALBERICH
I honestly really like this hero and his design. The mana regen, the rezz power, it’s just… FUN. Wish I had him, but he didn’t reciprocate my luff. I see him quite a lot so I think he’s also objectively fine.
KADILEN
Kadilen, Kadilen, got buffed and I still think she’s… a bit too gimmicky to be desirable. Like, she lacks a little OOMPH. I have a silly idea to make her a bit more fun and useful in more situations.
Add a mini-riposte effect to the entire team. 20-25% damage reflection.
I mean, it’s eclipse shield, you shouldn’t look straight at an eclipse or you may get hurt. 25% damage wouldn’t demolish anyone (might be too low to matter even? Idk, I’m not a numbers gal), but could add some annoyance in raid settings and maybe make her a more viable choice there.
ELKANEN
I said it in another topic and I stand by it - he would be cool as an offensive healer cause there isn’t one in the game currently and nobody likes him anyway.
Replace damage steal with team-wide heal of 20%
His damage is pathetic currently (compare to also fast Musashi, for instance, who also heals himself but packs a much bigger punch), but if it was an addition to a heal it would be a nice mix of offense-defense. It would also be the smallest heal in the game (Vivica heals for 44%, +85% defense on all Cures debuffs), but the fastest one to offset it.
And so is created a niche of a fast mini-healer who also scratches enemies while at it. Tadaa.
HORGHALL
Now hear me out. Groot is a tank, yes? We have a shield mechanic in the game now, yes? (Thotty). I suggested one mechanic for Thorne, now let’s utilize a shield.
Remove attack debuff. Instead upon casting his spell, Horghall summons defensive roots around his allies. Each root acts like a shield similar to Thot’s minions soaking some damage when a hero is hit.
YELLOW
MUSASHI
I don’t know. He seems nice to me. Not a fan of the healing mechanic, I never noticed it do much for him, but he’s cool enough to roll it I guess. If he was still falling behind, I’d just make the healing stronger or upped his damage. His face makes up for a lot.
JOON
Everybody loves Joon.
LEONIDAS
Nobody loves Leonidas.
Okay so, I think he sucks donkey… ears. He is average speed, deals less damage than all the FAST heroes. Well, actually, less damage than any other 5* single hitting hero (aside of Perseus, who is also Average and who also sucks donkey parts [according to me, I’m not an oracle, don’t yell at me]).
He removes 25% mana from 1 target. Boo hoo so scary. Li Xiu, also average, but also a 4* removes 20% mana from ALL targets. Hel, also average, deals much more damage and blocks mana entirely on 3 targets. Yo. This guy is a 5* hero. He needs an OOMPH!
Remove the steal life mechanic. Instead allow Leonidas to remove 100% mana from the enemy and 30% from the nearby.
Now this would give our boy Leo some tactical use in more areas of the game. Mana burrrrrrrrn!
JUSTICE
In theory cool, in practice I rarely see her. Mostly raid-defense hero. Honestly? I’d just make her average in speed. Her damage is nothing to write home about. If she was average in speed she could get a better flow and become useful in raid attack and possibly less garbage on events, though there’d still be better choices there.
As a basically exclusively raid hero she needs a little help there to become a stronger contender.
Change speed to Average.
OWL
This is such a weird champion I don’t know. I just see them eyes. Cool cool eyes.
PURRRPLE
PANTHER
Probably fine? Works good with another dark hero. Just get dem tabards lol.
OBAKAN
I feel like defense-reducing heroes will always be good in this game. He could use some time in a spa and salon though. Get those looks in order.
QUINTUS
Snoozus, amirite?
Well, the problem with Quintus is that he provides raw damage, but not much else. There’s no mechanic, so there’s very little wiggle room. Buff his damage? He’ll one shot everyone, that won’t do. Leave him as he is? He can’t kill anyone in time, he’s meh. I think he would benefit from an effect.
He’s all chargey and stuff. So how about:
Quintus turns enemy champions into conduits. For the next 1-2 turns, every time they are attacked, x% of damage dealt to them spreads to nearby enemies/all enemies.
Tactical use: keep your skills to unload after he pops his skill. Build a fancy board. You know, strategize. Prepare the big explosion and hope you don’t perish during the build up (or just ignore it and pew pew away and not utilize the effect fully). Sounds fun to me.
THOTH-AMUN
He’s been talked about lately. Just those quality-of-life speed changes would be neat. Also decide if buffs/debuffs apply to his minions or not, cause currently it’s inconsistent.
DOMITIA
I honestly don’t know why she’s Average in speed. Seems like she should be fast with her damage and skills and then she can compete with folk like Sartana or Lianna. He damage is still lower and the dark defense is situational. Dispel is the one effect that matters here.
Change to fast mana speed.
SARTANA
Change helmet. She might be hiding a nice face underneath it, but it’s really tough to say as is.
SARGASSO, BUNNY and every other event hero I didn’t mention
I haven’t a clue. Never seen, never used.
