From what i read his card, beside good stat (with family bonus, he is comparable to CB2) he seems to has a unique dispel skill. His dispel should work even for undispellable buff or when Brynhild or Ukkonen put undispel-buff on.
Normal dispellers: can dispel Grazul/Faiez buff block type, but not Brynhild/Ukkonen protection and elemental-link type
Raul (guess from reading and related test explained below) : can dispel Brynhild/Ukkonen and elemental-link types but not Grazul/Faiez protection
(Would be great if some can test Raul on Brynhild/Ukkonen. If this is true, only this unique dispeller perspective is compliment/better to Mist who otherwise has better specials
Btw, I tested with green enemy who is affected by Aino undispellable effect on green, and Raul is able to remove it,
Similarly, Swan Maiden can remove elemental-link from our own ally
so that is the reason behind the hypothesis above

He does a lot of things…none of which very well.
This is a big disappointment for a newer hero. 4s should get some love and at least be a decent consolation for those who don’t pull 5s. I generally hold on to at least one of each 4* event hero but I have enough clogging my roster that I will likely never level. The best thing about Raul is I don’t have to waffle on him and have him take up space. I can get rid of him right away. Bye Raul.
In the past, when Brynhild was a queen of 4* arena, Raul may have his role to counter (remove her protection) her on both special and color. Today I have not seen much Brynhild however.

He does have a small niche in buff boosters I guess. But it’s only 3 turns and he is average speed. This hero is a mess
Maybe for him to shine, we may have to pair him with Swan Maiden even in 4* arena, so that he and she got another 10% attack/def/hp boost.
With that LB2 Swan Maiden stat will be almost stronger than any 4* LB1, and LB2 Raul stat will top even CB3 LB2 S1. Further, Maiden special can make Raul have more time to charge so that Raul will disturb the enemy buff (both dispel and block plus slow mana).
I think these pair in defence team look interesting.
Maybe that mana slow value is enough for 4* tourneys. The damage is still too weak, which means he only depends on tiles to deal real damage.
Zhabog would also be good paired with him, being able to extend his ailment. 3 turns is too short for an average speed hero. And they’re both red as well

Totally agree that 3 turns is too little for average and his 120% damage is toooo low. Raul shuld have do 4 turns and 200% at least
In 4* Arena, maybe only Ptolemy can counter Raul’s special
You fire first Zhabog and after that Raul or other way around?
So Raul is great against taunt heroes and counterattack heroes. But is not good against Afrike. What other heroes should fear Raul?

Unfortunately you have to fire Raul before zhabog. Raul’s skill could be useful to totally shut down buffs in buff booster tourneys as it can’t be cleansed, but that’s about it. 3 turns is too low and he’s average speed. The only hero that can extend his ailment and make Raul sort of useful is zhabog

Maybe just for the event he gets better stats… if you use him in the epic stages…I guess. I am working on him rn…
I’m working on him as well. I could see using him in vf wars as a ludwig counter… And that’s it… But I’ll take it.
For each of us, who pull Raul and feel like there are some typos in his special (eg. 120% hit at average) , there is a thread on buffing him here

I see many ppl complaining that he’s not a good hero.
Maybe his dance doesn’t do much, but it’s has one good synergy with: Boots.
2×Boots and ×2 Raul, and it’s game over.
