So I have seen many, man, MANY topics recently saying how raids are so much harder now than they used to be with power creep etc. I am not personally seeing it, either on my FTP acocunt or my P2P account.
On my FTP account I know many matches will be very difficult or practically unwinnable - but my raid team whilst having good synergy is at 4.3K TP so is not in the same league as those other teams. But I am permanently in diamond now and most teams I beat are 400-800 TP higher than me.
On my PTP account I donāt use any heroes less than a year old (roughly) and whilst I will lose some and yes some of the top defenses are difficult - overall I would win far more than I lose.
So where is the disconnect?
Is the power creep really making raids much more difficult (for the majority of players in the majority of scenarios - not necessarily someone with a weakish roster who managers to claw their way up to 2800 cups) or is it that players are not using optimal teams/strategies?
So if you are one of those players who is struggling I have a request - post a video or some videos of matches where you struggle. I want to see what teams you are facing, what teams you are bringing, what tiles you are getting and how you are playing those tiles. This will help me understand the problem but also I (and many others on the forum) may be able to help you in your progress.
Happy to share my own raiding if anyone wants to see my own experiences (I just LB2d my Tree and Shrubbear and very keen to get them raiding) but I have done so many of those videos that people may be sick of them.
Well I lasted all of 10 minutesā¦ here is a quick raid video
I LB2d my Tree and Shrub and took them out for a 6 raid run.
I deliberately didnāt take Ludwig because many consider him a ch eat option (and he kinda is).
C Sabina will definitely get LB2d because she is to my mind the best dispeller out there, and dispellers are worth their weight in gold. Still a little fragile after one LB.
Won 5/6, with the loss pretty close. TPs were:
4405 vs 5076
4406 vs 5130
4406 vs 5155
4318 vs 5311
4413 vs 5294
4318 vs 5218
Went from low diamond to mid diamond but there were definitely some strong/OP/meta heroes that I faced. The last battle was against LB2 Ludwigā¦ my 3* LB2s took the win there.
Kind gesture Homa. For me I donāt find them harder per say, but I do have more streaks. For a whole day Iāll win 6 in a row with the chest and open it soon after with a couple of other quick wins. Then the next day Iāll use all 6 flags and get 17 points. No rhyme or reason but the minute you think know what you are doing in this game, you have to adapt and learn to beat new common defenses.
Current win-rate - 46-9 - 83.63 %. Not bad tbh. Yes, speed is the key. 3 Hotms, 1 S1 costume and 1 tower event, but speed is the key. I won many rounds thanks to Karaās taunt charging as I couldnāt find red tiles on time. Even if I only get 6 red tiles, I can still kill 1 hero with GM with his hit + DoT + Erebus snipe and then possibly ghost another red match to charge everyone back. Also I went 23 wins in a row, what is very good for current power creep and no, I had many tough wins included in there too, not just - I got the tiles on time and won.
I know itās kind of a luxury attack team, in a way it really is. Cause I only got Erebus last november and Grazul from fated not that long ago, cause I knew she would really fit into this raiding team and no regrets.
Heroes that are biggest issue for this offense team would be dispel before hitting AoE heroes and fiends. The top counter to this offense team is Fortuna, but she is not very common. Iād only reroll, if I saw her in the defense team.
While I have finally LBāed some of my 5* heroes, I havenāt maxed any yet. But I donāt see raids getting any harder, sometimes you get on a winning streak, sometimes you go on a losing streak, just like it was way back at the beginning. I only raid to fill hero chest, and go mono attack mostly, with occasional 3-2, and 4-1 every once in a while.
I can share some vids, but I donāt know if showcasing the same team over and over has any benefits. Lately I just raid with that 1 team. If I donāt use that team, but instead I try various teams, my winrate in high diamond is probably around 70-75% or bit less (2800+ cups), if I do revenges only, win-rate is higher, I think, but I never really counted my wins/looses before. Against high TP defs and because of that almost against any def, I just find that 1 team I showcased to be the most ideal for me. I mean, I can try some other teams too. I donāt mind.
Iām still refusing to LB2 any hero and at the moment it has made zero difference to my wars or raids. I find both wars and raids to be exactly the same as they have always been. Get the tiles and itās a win. Donāt get the tiles and itās a loss. 3* Rush no yellow tourney coming up so, as can be expected, Iāll get battered by a forest of Treevils just this time theyāll be at 3/60 instead of 3/55, again, apart from the numbers, no change.
The real problem is when people get enough Aethers to break 5 cards and start throwing them in defense.
I am not breaking anything as of now. But tempted to do Waddles, Shrubbear in some time and then wait for more aethers to break my Ludwig for offense.
Even with good tiles defenses with 5 LB2 cards will be hard to get through in a few months.
I was just surprised by how many players LB2 Ludwig and started throwing it on defense.
I will probably not do any 5*
I use cRigard a lot still so I think i will do him and a few 3*, but definitely want to do Rigard/cRigard - he is on my 5* Mono Purple raid/war/Event team (along with Louhi, Ludwig, Khepri and Sartana) so extra stats for him will be useful.
I heard the same argument about LB1 when that came out. I didnāt limit break any 5* for a long old time (First was in December last year) and it didnāt make any difference for war and raids really. Weāll see if it makes any difference this time round soon enough Iām sure. And, if it doesnāt, I look forward to hearing the same again when LB3 comes out
LB1 definitely did a lot of damage to the game play. Non LB cards dont tend to survive in the meta on offense or defense.
The margins of survival is greatly enhanced by LB1. Now with LB2 the stats are obscene. Health over 2000 and def > 1000. And when there are 3 to 5 cards with those stats, the game is heavily tilted in their favor.
I faced a few double LB teams and there is a clear difference between the teams. When a max emb + LB1 card usually dies in few tiles (4 to 6) and a high damage special, these LB2 cards easily survive them and continue to punish the attack team.
It doesnāt make sense to me either but it is common opinion on play store (at least in my country) that heroes in defense charge faster and heroes in attack charge slower than they used to.
I guess its because there are troops with 20%, costume bonuses, bards.
And if you are not whale you probably donāt have all of them so it can feel like your heroes are slower.and enemy heores are faster.
