Normally I say “What is your roster” but this is Proteus ( see notes )

5* purple

While I would love to level my Domitia, 5* heroes take a ton of Hero XP and food and Domitia is a solo hero not a team hero.

Additionally I am leveling many 4* purple heroes for Cleric ( Rigard - done ) Wizard ( Proteus - done ), Ranger ( Tiburtus ), Sorcerer ( Sabina ), 2nd Sorcerer ( Ameonna ), 2nd Rigard 4* 3.60 . And I want so many more purple 4* 3.60 - the most powerful purples in the game with only 1* / 2* ascension items - Cheshire cat, Cyprian, Merlin, 2nd Proteus, 3rd Proteus, 3rd Rigard.

Many people have wanted a 5* Rigard for a long time. If you do not get rumored blue 5* Ariel, then 4*+19 Rigard is just as good.

Many people love purple 5* Hel. If you do not have 5* Hel, then 4*+19 Proteus can actually be betters ( that is a long discussion of 5* Hel versus 4*+19 Proteus versus rumored purple 4*+19 Cheshire Cat ).

If you do not have Rigard, I would level Proteus to 4* 3.60 then, if you have them Sabina 4* 3.60 or Tiburtus 4* 3.60 ( see notes ).

Be flexible

Wonderland legendary tier taught me to be flexible when I leveled Proteus in 1 day using off color heroes ( that hurt ). The lose of hero XP was balanced by using less 3* / 4* battle items in legendary tier ( where I can use Proteus), so I can use those saved battle items in the 8 of 10 class quests barred to Proteus.

Personally I would do a second Proteus, and a third Proteus, before a first Merlin and all before a first Ameonna ( I abandoned leveling my Ameonna when I got Proteus and also when realized Tiburtus was the only Ramming Pulverizer in Ranger class).

Without knowing the rest of your roster, I would recommend leveling both Proteus AND Rigard to 4* 3.60 since this takes the same Hero XP, only 1*/2* farmable ascension items and 4* 3.60
Are the most powerful heroes in the game using 1* / 2* ascension items.
