==What is the Revenge bar?==
In essence, the Revenge bar is an old match 3 mechanism, X moves to clear a board. You get bonus moves added if you use a power up ( Rigard ). Your remaining moves reduced if you hit a bomb ( kill the center and the two flank in a first move board combo/ cascade).

X moves to clear a board encourages efficient matching and discourages sloppy matching.

( note: check if revenge bar damage increases with 5 minute timer bonus damage)

==Background, Revenge bar==
The Revenge bar reduces your attacking hero ‘s HP by a flat 25% of their max HP.

This intentionally encourages efficient matching and discourages sloppy matching. It reduces the effectiveness of high defense, high HP snipers ( tanky snipers/ titan killers ) , Damage Over Time ( DOT), Mana Over Time (MOT) and Healing Over Time (HOT).

The fewer heroes on a war defense team, the faster the Revenge bar fires.

This intentionally encourages efficient matching and efficient use of tanky snipers/ titan killers for War energy #1- #3.

While it discourages sloppy use of tanky snipers/ titan killers, sloppy matching. It reduces the effectiveness of Damage Over Time ( DOT), Mana Over Time (MOT) and Healing Over Time (HOT).

==Background, War points==
The less health an enemy alliance puts on the battlefield field the more bonus points each five hero, high health team is worth so this, combined with persistent HP, makes them good mob targets in second half of war.

==Background, Trap defense teams==
Trap defense teams try to trap you into wasting war energy, the use of a powerful hero from your roster, or both. Typical trap defense teams are one healer in the corner, one riposte in a corner and one healer in the other corner, or two healers both placed in a corner. For War energy #1- #3, Trap teams are poor targets. Unless all other targets are killed and the revive timers are too long, then they may be worth it for the full alliance revive that results from a full alliance kill. Try and use one strong hero supported by four weaker heroes to clear them for a full alliance kill.

Always check black hero slots for a skull. If live heroes plus skulls equal five, the defense team might be worth attacking, check the live heroes, the dead heroes and the team kill bonus. Trap teams can fill in the middle three slots with 1*- 4* 1.1 heroes to help camouflage themselves.

==Strategies for minimizing the Revenge bar for ally attack teams==

==Power Up- Rigard==
Rigard is a tanky healer so he survives. His special skill cleanses any attack debuffs from all allies. At 8/8 he instant heals 42% of all allies HP which is almost TWO full attacks by the revenge bar. Vivica suffers from slow mana speed and a defense buff bypassed by the Revenge bar. Delilah gives herself 46% HP, between minions and instant heal, but tanky snipers will get less heal from her than from Rigard. HOT work at the beginning of combat against a five hero team, but suffer against a partially killed defense team or a Trap team.

==Power Up- Melendor/ Sabina==
Trade less survivability for more board damage. Their special skill removes riposte and defense buffs so you don’t waste time whittling away at the defenders. At 8/8 their instant heals 42% of all allies HP which is almost TWO full attacks by the revenge bar.

==Power Up - Boldtusk/ Kiril/ Belith/ Hawkmoon==
At 8/8 their instant heals 27%/ 28%/ 32%/ 32% of all allies HP which is slightly more than one full attack by the Revenge bar. Kiril’s defense buff is bypassed by the Revenge Bar and his attack buff, like Boltusk’s, is short so does not last long each time you try and power it up.

Belith is tankier than Hawkmoon and removes riposte and enemy defense buffs so you don’t waste board matches whittling away at Perfect riposte. Hawkmoon trades survivability for more board damage.

==Power Up- Boril/ Cyprian==
Perfect Riposte gives nearby allies free attacks that require no additional mana, just Boril or Cyprian, and require no additional moves. More powerful against war defense teams with attack all (Li Xiu), attack all nearby (Guardian Falcon), or splash damage (Grimm), specials.

It would be even cooler if the Revenge bar damage was reflected, but that is a Devs decision.
