This Hero should give Devana like Minions to everyone to finally have a good counter to Lady of the Lake. Or the Minions should protect owners against status alignments and prevent status effects on enemies when hit.

So i just pulled Papyros this morning. Was very excited to get him, and then I came across this thread. And there is one thing I want to point out to allâŚ
I kept on reading how hero XYZ is better than Papyros. But the thing is, most of those heroes are not necessarily available at a momentâs whim to F2P players. Sure for those who spend hundreds or thousands of dollars a year on the game (or however much the top 500 players pay) then there is better options than Papyros. But for someone like me, who spends probably $20 or less for the entire year⌠having the ability to get a Papyros I feel is a boon for my team.
And I understand your perspective. You have all these awesome, amazing heroes on your team so you expect the new heroes to continue to be better than what you have. This is what keeps you hooked- if heroes that come out are not better than what you have, why bother spending on the game?
My point is, whether the hero is good or garbage really depends on perspective and ability to get better. I am not going to spend a hundred dollars to buy gems in the hopes of pulling a Freya. So for me, Papyros is a very nice alternative.
Papyros is going to replace Neith as my yellow tank. And I am going to combine it with Frosth, so those minions will become tankier. Which means when multiple tiles hit that minion, they will get sand damage. And with my defense team as Killhare, C Kadilen, Neith (eventually Papyros), Frosth and Zagrog⌠there is no healer in that mix. So having the Papyros boosted health, that is going to be better than what I have currently.
So a lot of people can say Papyros is garbage, only because they already have better. I am going to say Papyros is awesome because it is probably the best 5 star yellow I can feasibly and reasonably get.

If something is good or garbage has to do with what you compare him to. How good is Papyrus compared to:
- Other minion heroes
- Other S5 heroes
- Other new heroes (that came out the last year)
- Other yellow heroes in general
- Other heroes in general
I rate him (1-10):
- Minion: 3
- AT: 3
- New Heroes: 1
- Yellow: 2
- General: 3
What you have, shouldnât really impact a rating of a new hero.

I fought him against him and while he still needs something else to his skill, he did pose a bit of a problem for me. Also if anyone wanted to see want he would look like stat wise and limit broken

I have noticed that Pappy is making a lot more appearances in the top 100, obviously fluctuates on the day, but seems to be a lot more prevalent as of late. I have him at 3/70 and he was invaluable in last tower event. Might have to consider maxing and emblems.

Papyros need a buff! heâs just too weak compared to the other heroâs!!!

I feel i came across a bug with papyâŚ
Use sabina costume to prevent new buffs, then papy goes off and his minions do not apply sand damage to your heroes. Since i donât have papy⌠Iâm ok if that doesnât get fixedâŚ
Were his minions the only ones present?
I think i saw one of the Congress that come from kadâs dodge or the emblem talentâŚ
A word of warning combining Papyros with other minion summoners! If the Sand Minion is shielded by another minion that is able to absorb all the incoming damage , then no Sand DoT will be triggered! Sand DoT only applies when PAPYROSâ minion takes the hit!
I have noticed the same thing. Its curious. Maybe the passives boost his usefulness on defense
I actually went ahead and ascended him, working on getting to 4/80 and will probably emblem him. At a minimum, he is nice in events where you can build up his minions. The boost mana/health are helpful and the set damage from the sand is nice. Havenât decided if I will limit break or not. Worst case I have Pengi at 3/70 and can build a minion team. Thought about Bera, Liu Bai, Papyros, Pengi and maybe Boldtusk. That would put poison, sand, counter attack, all from minions with Pengi providing finishing touches. Problem is only Papyros on 4th ascension lol.

Would go with this:
Ideally, replace Zhang Fei with Pengi which I do not have. Papyrosâ minions to protect cInaris Mana minions and frosth to boost them all. A lot of mana boosting should bring it in the 6-7 tile range, blind, dodge and def up to protect minions and health boosting, conditional overheal to run without a dedicated healer. Should be fun.
Problem: Papyros needs every of the other heroes to be good. Non of the other heroes needs Papyros.

Got two of these chasing the damn purple cat, but actually I feel like two papyros on defense might be pretty good. Anyway, not sure Iâm going to level him at all. I have seen him in some top defenses, but he hasnât really caused me too many issues. I donât think I have a team for him at the moment, but Iâm curious about how heâll be with the new bard coming out that resets turn ailments. Feel like that new Bard is going to be meta right quick.
Papyros is surprisingly strong on offense, especially in events. Agree on bards, I think a couple may break the game.
I donât understand the hate this guyâs gottenâŚoffensively heâs not bad at allâŚplus heâs built like my high school exâŚlol

Iâm guessing, and especially speaking for me, that those of us with large rosters (more likely to frequent the forums) are not swayed by offensive use. So we tend to judge every unit through the criteria of defense > titan > offense. Offense is the easiest position to fill as there are a lot of 4* teams that can beat five star defenses. A strong defensive unit and a titan specialist are more valuable than a unit that only does well on offense, hence his poor feedback. Thatâs just my opinion anyway.
