counterattack Counterattack At the start of each battle, this Hero counterattacks with 60% of the damage received for 6 turns.
In battles with multiple waves, the effect is refreshed at the beginning of each wave.
:hourglass: Ability: Duration of the first 3 buffs this hero receives from special skills is increased by 1 turn.
:hourglass: Ability (if costume is available): Increased Damage Against Boosted Health
After this character casts their Special Skill cast, all allies’ normal attacks and Special Skills deal +70% damage against targets with boosted health for 4 turns .
:dizzy: Special Skill: Stalling The Hallowed Blade
  • Deals 180% damage to all enemies.
  • Deals additional 20% damage per each Fire shield on the board, up to 340% damage in total.
  • All enemies get -24% attack for 3 turns.

Families give bonuses for each unique Hero of the same family in battle.

Bonus for 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 Heroes:

  • 25% / 30% / 35% / 40% / 45% chance to spawn an Underwild Gem on board when this hero casts Special Skill

Underwild Gem deals 25 damage to a random enemy each turn.

Underwild Gems can only be spawned on a normal shield on board that has the same element as this Hero.

It’s important to remember that Challenge Event Heroes have EXTREMELY low summoning odds. No amount of summoning will guarantee a Challenge Event Hero.

On average, in a 10-pull, you have a 1.65% chance of summoning Octros.

But that statistic can lead our minds astray in exactly how our odds play out as we continue summoning.

Some useful insights:

  • 15 times out of 100, you’ll get Octros by pull 100 (26,000 gems)
  • 56 times out of 100, you’ll get Octros by pull 500 (130,000 gems)
  • 95 times out of 100, you’ll get Octros by pull 1,796 (467,200 gems)
  • 99 times out of 100, you’ll get Octros by pull 2,761 (717,900 gems)

Putting that in Perspective

  • 85 out of every 100 people won’t get Octros by the 100th pull

  • If 1 Million players each spent $259.97 (US) to summon :one::zero::zero: times, 846,364 of those players wouldn’t get Octros

  • 5 out of every 100 people won’t get Octros by the 1800th pull

  • If 1 Million players each spent $4,671.53 US to summon :one::eight::zero::zero: times, 49,663 of those players wouldn’t get Octros

I just got him. My first 5* from Season 4.

To me it looks like “meh”. It has decent stats but not something wow. Same as with the special.

If you have plenty of red tiles, you’re already winning the raid / war match (if you play mono).

Seems pretty OP to me. Hits for a ton, and as if that wasnt enough, has attack down to all. While being a fighter class. He will hit as hard as Killhare 50% of the time, but instead of getting an ailment, he gives one lol.

He has attack down, not defense down.

Any hero that is only situational, cannot be OP. Same as Guardian Owl. He hits hard only if he’s the last hero standing.

As explained above, if you have plenty of red tiles, you’re already in a good shape and have great chances of winning the match if playing mono.

That’s what I was saying about Frigg
 Which is why I didn’t really chase her ever. Yea, tile dependency is a great perk in defense, especially when you can stack a lot of them. But for attack, if your playstyle is in stacks, it’s pretty much only a staple on already won match. And attack is where I focus on, I couldn’t care less whether people are winning or losing against my defense, it’s meaningless.

Octros didn’t amaze me in beta, even in defences. You could tell how significant is the difference between “fast” and “average” for this type of skill. If you ask me, Frigg and Odin should also have been average from the start, but with a bit better damage. They would never dominate the defences for this long. But what do I know, it’s not my job to balance the game :man_shrugging:

So this is what Sudri looks like when he is all grown up. Would be extremely special if you let C Marjana and Saoirse fire before him.

If Zenobia also fires before Octros, does this affect the power of his special too?

You don’t need many tiles for Octros to unleash massive damage to the entire enemy team. He can be devastating on attack. Almost like a red Killhare. I think he’s gonna be a force to be reckoned with.

He should be pretty good in defense, even better with Frigg/Odin because you will have more tiles to remove before they fire.

 Octros and Frigg on defense. You’ll get slapped with a defense down and an attack down.

What next? An Ice hero that does the same as those 2 except it give mana down? That would be a frustrating rage quit for me in that match.

Wait, is octros a male or female then? Beta states that this hero is female. But her physique and stance are both masculine. If not for the ponytail, I would have never thought this hero was a woman

If you compare octros to zila lei, zila is obviously feminine and she doesn’t have tentacles growing on her lower jaw like xnolphod and octros. Which those tentacles could double as a beard to suggest male.

I think she would go well with Morel or Frigg on defence. I think she could make a decent tank. It would force the opponent to play red tiles, even if they brought a different mono. I think she looks worth having personally.

Well I get 1% in tourneys based on my attacks, not my defense. Was getting 1% when I hit A and when I hit C or D, it’s just very much attack-dependent, defense is just meaningful for marginal cases. Also, the tournament rules are so different
 Bera will suck in V.Fast, for example; not perfect for buff boost as well. Wouldn’t ascend Bera having tournaments in mind


Now wars are a different story, obviously, but I have controversial opinion that defense only really matters when you are in like top20 alliances consistently and want to stay there. I am in top 100 alliance now, we have guys who have far worse than ideal heroes; even if we have 2 or 3 superwhales who keep their rosters up with all the best monsters, they won’t carry the whole team on perfect defenses. My personal input of having say Octros replacing Gravemaker or Gefjon in one of my teams is really meaningless to victory, perhaps somewhat trackable with analyzing data from last 50 wars but still meaningless overall. Maybe if whole alliance put out best defense (like what the whale alliances are doing) that would be visible impact, but I ain’t financially capable to play the game on that level. And by the way, the loot from my 5 war chests is enough discouragement from tryharding on wars; won’t sacrifice everything else in my game to get a my dose of garbage and disappointment a bit more often :wink:

No, too afraid to have another hero that will be just benched. I limit broke C Boldtusk and he’s pretty much a healer on par with my other legendary healers so I’m kind of satisfied on that front. Gave some rings to a dupe Gefjon, though still have two more sets for whoever appears. Would I ascend Octros right away when he appears somehow now? Probably not though. I have Guardian Kong who offensively is similar. Defensively I use LB Gefjon; no Odin or Frigg here for tile-depending combo. Not sold on the squid guy.

Rewards definately need to improve and some higher tier arena for raids or some other way of acknowledging offensive raiding and succesfull defenses.

Edit : for me, where I dont have maxed and emblemed heroes, defense score matters alot. Since I normally generate less points from succesfull wins from lower team power, defense actually tips the favour of me having a succesfull raid score.
