Nerfing heroes

Don’t agree entirely, contracts can’t always save you. A court can set them aside on other grounds

ULA’s are only good as long as they stay legal. Bait and switch is a real thing… and not legal. That said, I can’t see grounds for that with any live cards, but I do suspect that was the reason they stopped with the Guin and Zeline adjustments.

Since I started playing back in early December there hasn’t been a single nerf to any hero in the game. This seems to be a declaration that is tied to the beta?

Nobody in beta paid money to be in beta, nor did they pay money to acquire cards in the beta.

Since the heroes aren’t live in the game, you didn’t pay a dime. Nor did you receive anything.

They made the product, then they tested it internally… then they sent it to beta testing… and soon enough, they’ll release it. After testing it.

I’m not quite sure what the issue is. Could you perhaps declare some specifics about the situation that is frustrating you? As it stands, this seems like quite an odd declaration. It kinda feels like you might be misunderstanding the situation.

Im still confused what the OP was even talking about.

Just an observation: Several people have made productive efforts to interpret the OP’s post, with some apparent confusion.

Given the OP has not yet responded to any of the comments, it might be best to wait for them to clarify.

I’m thinking the OP is referring to the coming rebalancing in V20. There has been no word of nerfing or buffing any hero, so this topic might be completely unnecessary…

The original post may be taken several ways, ut I will refrain from suing.

If the argument is you bought gems in advance, did the devs bait you? It is obvious you know how to use this forum both by posting and using the term “nerf” and you were able to find information on the web which may not have been meant for release, so your bad.

If you pulled a hero which you somehow know was better in beta and you want that better hero, again, your bad.

If you are anticipating the devs will side with @ber and nerf GM, then do not give him any emblems

I would be plenty upset. Heck, I’m upset when I RMA pc components and get back a reconditioned item rather than what I know for a fact, I purchase brand new not too long ago. I would agree with the comparison if what I paid for in this game entitled me to ownership. Unfortunately it doesn’t.

So a better comparison is that you had a specific rental that needed to be serviced and in return, were given an alternative vehicle in replacement to finish out the remaining of your term.

Not wrong. You won the Jackpot and bought a car for 10k. Now you see that the car is worth 9.9k only. Why now blame the lotery/Casino for it?

Version 1.12 May 2018 was the last time a hero got nerfed, reducing Zeline’s special damage from 153% to 143%. The idea that that change has made the card fundamentally different from what you thought you were spending for is dumb

Weird thing is you’ve been already using it for a long time then they took it back and returned it to you with lesser quality because “it is too good” compared to other stuff they are selling. hah!

Real items sometimes also get nerfed by e.g. firmware updates. Before installing you’ll have to confirm that you won’t claim sth due to that.

I thought that this thread needed a bump with all the talks going about nerfing Telluria.

First I must say that I don’t have Telluria despite pulling a 100 times for her. I just think that nerfing should be illegal. In fact, it is in Japan and it’s a good thing. You can’t lure someone into buying virtual currency to get something and then take it back from him. It’s like saying to a lottery winner that he won’t have 1.000.000 dollars as expected but 100.000 because the other players think he won too much…

There are other ways to balance a game. Powercreep is one of them. SG can release some heroes that counter her and are easily obtainable. Maybe a super fast 4 stars hero that cure and prevent mana speed down and destroy minions… They could also buff some old heroes… But if they choose to nerf Telly I would feel very bad for the people who invested a lot of money and time for her.

In fact I left Galaxy of Heroes because they nerfed two characters I spent months to level up and I just hope that SG won’t replicate that mistake here.

Nerfs and Buffs are Common to Balance the Game, creating new Options, different Views on use and its Healthy for the Game if things get out of Control to fix them.

What ive read so far, SG doesnt really care about S1 heroes and they just Dust in ur Storage. So Balancing should always be made with existing and upcoming heroes, so people not going Mad when Nerfs coming, or People Freak out if their Favorite Hero gets a Buff.

I guess OP is mad cause he didnt get “the faceroll Champ” which someone maybe from YouTube anticipated ^^

In this game, with how long it takes to get mats and how much consideration goes into maxing or not maxing a hero over another, nerfing heroes can really frustrate players… I do believe balance is ideal and if a nerf is deemed necessary for a hero, then developers should create a type of reset option for heroes that would allow players that have already maxed said hero, to decide at that point, if the adjusted hero is still worth their mats, otherwise if feels very much like a bait and switch.

I think the original point is well taken when it’s glaringly obvious to even casual players that some heroes are over powered (Telluria) & others are under powered for their rarity (Margaret), yet somehow they still go into production?! First time I saw Telluria at the end of February online before she was released (and at that point I had only been playing for 6 months) I thought how crazy over powered she is. If my still just a noobie trained eye caught it, how could SGG not? Now SGG just announced they are nerfing her, which was a shock to no one I’m sure, but I think that’s the reason for the frustration, when it’s a crystal clear problem that isn’t being addressed before going into production. According to Anchor the beta testers are giving their feedback, but it goes into a lockbox on SGGs end and they decide whether to make the changes or not. I’ve heard Guinivere has been nerfed thrice to date. I’m sure that has to be frustrating for players who got her early on. You almost have to wonder if Telluria was little more than a bait & switch to draw in new players giving them hope they can compete with the older players.

Lol we really need this engraved at the top of the main page in the forum like ASAP

@zephyr1

@Guvnor

Can you make that happen?

I tried by quoting & cross posting it several times lol

Yea i saw that

Oh well lol next step is hoping for players that pay more attention but that’s probly a pipe dream

Interestingly I just noticed this.

The terms also say:

YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT SMALL GIANT GAMES IS NOT REQUIRED TO PROVIDE A REFUND FOR ANY REASON

I doubt that would hold up in Court if something serious happened.

This is probably a good example of a ‘watertight’ term that a big corp tries to use but in the right circumstances a Court is likely to see right through it

@Mr.Spock as per our discussion

Eg. They surely can’t use that term to protect themselves if the SG developers unleash a virus that deleted all our bought gems when we downloaded an update.

Pretty sure a Court would see right through this.

Not saying that the terms don’t protect them but the point is that terms are not 100% foolproof
