Need help on prioritizing leveling

I have been playing for a few months now and have paid for a few pulls when good deals pop up. I have been pretty lucky with some pulls and I’m hoping to get some help prioritizing who to level. I am still only Stronghold level 12 if that means anything. I am somewhat limited on ascension mats, with only 2 compasses and not enough orbs/sturdy shields to ascend Kara or my Greens. I am a little overwhelmed with the choices and just not sure where to start. I do have training heroes of each color I have been saving as I haven’t been able to commit. Any help is greatly appreciated!

As a relatively new player my advice would be to focus on levelling 3 x 3* rainbow teams first.
Then progress to 4 x 4* rainbow teams.
They will win you the mats to be able to progress your 5* heroes.
Remember that this is a game of patience. Think of it as a marathon run rather than a sprint race.
And not sure what alliance you are in but at your stage you would be better in a “training” alliance.
Whichever heroes you choose good luck

I second the above advice. I gave the following advice to a new player in our alliance:

Focus on your 3 star heroes first. Choose one 3* hero in each element, put them into a team and level those heroes to max. Rinse and repeat until you have 3 or 4 maxed 3* of each element (You do not have to emblem or limit break all of them or any of them, though I would recommend limit breaking Treevil at any time).
Make another team and choose one 4* hero of every colour. Do as above with the 4* heroes.
You can also create a 3rd team for 5* heroes but do not put too much pressure on yourself to max these quickly. I would advise slowly taking them to level 3/70 and seeing how they work before commiting the materials to complete them. This will be quite a way down the road though.
The main thing to remember is that this game is a marathon, not a sprint. It will take a while before you have teams of 5* heroes to send out to battle

As for who to level. This will all come down to your playstyle and what you want first. A team that works well for defence will not always be best for attack and vice versa. Be sure to play the game a bit. Raid a bit and try out heroes on earlier map stages to see how they work for you as you don’t need to have them maxed to complete earlier stages. And for the time being try not to use the auto play function too much

Hope this helps.

Game Well :sunglasses:

To add to the above, I would slow down on summoning- you need to make roster space for feeder heroes (the 1* and 2* heroes), else your good 3* 4* and 5* will never grow.

Can you repost your full roster with 3*?

As for the ones shown, here are some dupes that you can feed away (that is - only keep one)

Danzaburo (as he is a bit unreliable, I wouldn’t bring more than one - if you can I advise keeping one of each hero but you can be more strict about keeping dupes)

Chakkoszrot or however you spell him - I don’t think you need two

Dupes of the following 4*, as they are easily available from TC20 later - Kelile, Caedmon, Kashhrek, Boril, Colen, Sonya, Cyprian, Little John).

I am not sure if you need two each of Ptolemy, Azmia, Junaid either . triton as well, I think one is enough

Boldtusk and Peters might be good to keep both for now. Though with Peters if you later get Hansel or Tettukh… could feed one Peters away

You have a lot of Sun Shangxiang, I don’t know if you need more than two

I would prioritise;

Yellow - Bane
Purple - Aqeela
Blue - Ulmer

I have this written up for new players when I ran a training alliance. It might help you decide now, and further down the line.
HERO LEVELLING
How you approach hero levelling is different for everyone - these are the successful methods:
1- Choose one hero of each colour and feed 10 at a time of the SAME colour feeders. This is the most cost effective method but it can take a long time to see results and is almost unbearable with 5star heroes. It is an essential method for 3star heroes as you have much less time opportunity to level the special to 8. Feeding 10x same colour gives the best opportunity to level the special before the hero is maxed, which means you won’t have to keep feeding the hero to get the special maxed out. If you are in this position (where the hero is fully ascended but the special has not reached level 8), 10x1star or 5x2star same colour feeders will give 100% chance to level the special. Feeding one of the exact same hero will also give 100% so it is wise to keep dupe 3star heroes until you have maxed one out!

2- Choose 1 hero and feed them 10x any colour. This is much faster so you see results sooner, but in the long run it does cost more in feeders and ham. I have never maxed a 4star or 5star hero and not had the special reach level 8, but I guess it’s a possibility. Never use this method with 3star heroes unless you are prepared to spend a lot of extra colour specific feeders levelling that special.

3- A bit of both - sometimes if I have a 3star I want to level, I’ll keep all of that colour feeder heroes for that 3star and all other colour feeders go to whatever 4star or 5star I’m currently working on. Sometimes you don’t have a particular colour hero to work on(say blue), so instead of levelling a hero you don’t want to use, blue feeders might get tossed in with another colour.

The point here is - find a method that suits you and stick to it. Most of all - FINISH what you start. Try not to jump around with your levelling or it will take a long time to build an effective roster. Sometimes you will pull an awesome hero and you’ll drop everything to level that hero (we all do that, don’t we?) but once that’s done, get back to your disciplined levelling.

WHO TO LEVEL -
work from the ground up - every player will always need 3star, 4star and eventually 5star heroes. Don’t ignore the first two! You will always have use for a solid variety of 3star heroes and I encourage everyone to have at least 3 of each colour 3star amongst the roster, so you can safely run 3/2 teams on offense in rare stages of events and 3star tournaments. No need to go crazy with emblems, but they are cheap on a 3star hero and activating the TALENT with just one emblem can be an invaluable asset in a battle.

4star heroes are the crux of the game. You will always have use for 4star and I encourage everyone to consider levelling useful 4star heroes BEFORE 5star heroes. It is always wiser to choose a 4star to Max than a 5star to 3/70 UNLESS you have the final tier ascension mats for that 5star, ready to go.
A levelled and talented 4star is almost always better than a 5star at 3/70.

2star heroes are feeders. Initially they get you going but once you’ve got thirty 3/4/5star heroes, there is no need to keep them. If you’ve put emblems on them it can be hard to let them go (we’ve all had our sentimental 2star hero that we held on to for too long), but it’s better to reset and utilise those blems elsewhere to build your hero base.

Shiny new heroes are awesome but don’t ignore the staples in this game. For each colour you’ll be wanting those basic heroes - a healer, a defense down hero, a dispeller and cleanser, a mana controller and a sniper. If you’re lucky you’ll snag heroes that have multiple functions (ie many healers also dispel or cleanse) and you’ll be able to build mono teams covering all of those bases.
With those attributes covered, regardless of star power, you can complete almost all aspect of the game, and you’ll be able to stack your colours effectively, utilising elemental buffs!

I’m late to the party, I see you’ve already gotten a great bunch of advice

You’ve also got magnificent heroes - congratulations

It is indeed a game of patience unless one is willing to pay a lot of money to cut corners. Enjoy your three stars and build those first before moving on :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s also great to level heroes a bit even so they follow each other in terms of power. Good luck and have fun :four_leaf_clover:
