[Math] Gambler’s Stance and Martial Prowess ( and Mystic’s Virtue )- Update with Zimkitha and Mother North
1d6= roll one six sided die
3d6= roll three six sided dice and sum the result
Replace 3s and 4s with zero
Gambler’s Stance is odd. If the no buff dice roll is 1d6, then the buffed dice roll is increased to 3d6. But replace all 3s, and 4s, rolled with the number zero. This gives us a roughly 33% miss rate with a x3 damage modifier.

Martial Prowess gives us a flat 2x to our 1d6 roll.

Since War Cry (+48%) can be added to Martial Prowess and Gambler’s Stance/ Mystic’s Virtue, the numbers just scale up.
Martial Prowess plus Gambler’s Stance
Rumor from Beta is Martial Prowess and Gambler’s Stance originally stacked.
But live server Martial Prowess plus Gambler’s Stance gives a average +80% attack bonus instead of the +100% attack bonus from Martial Prowess and the average bonus of +93.8% attack bonus from Gambler’s Stance.
2.65 attack bonus cap * 0.68 hit rate= +80.2%
The above dice rolls simulate a combination of attack stat and tile/ matching/ physical damage. Due to the attack curve and the attack stat soft cap, actual damage done ( especially while stacking high attack yellow heroes ) may be less.
HP and Mystic’s Virtue
Mystic’s Virtue uses the actual HP.
If a hero with Mystic’s Virtue buff has 500 HP, any enemy with 501+ HP takes damage versus hero’s attack stat +195% on a hit. This applies to tile/ matching/ physical damage and special skills.
Mystic’s Virtue versus Gambler’s Stance
Rumor from Beta says Mystic’s Virtue used to have a higher maximum attack buff but a higher accuracy debuff.
