[MASTER] [WORKING AS EXPECTED] Problems with sobek

someone explain to me why he takes damage if the card says he ignores counterattack

Because his passive doesn’t bypass buffs and this was only riposte damage he took.

The answer Radar gave is why… the heroes are counter attacking on his passive ability.

in short, a poorly designed hero

actually, no. he is designed to be a faster and more reliable version of Cobalt. In short, a nuke all hero at average speed. And he does that very well. If he fires twice there are 90% chance that the battles is either over or there will be only 2 heroes in danger health left.

cobalt ignores with percentages, sobek should ignore everything, but it turns out that I can lose the duel thanks to his passive

Still I have no idea who Sobek is, way too many heroes in this game

Nah… lol… the passive deal a very low damage that could return less than 200 damage to Sobek. If you lose because of that you would lose anyway.

in fair duels, a point can make the difference

It’s still kinda weaksauce. When you read that SS bypasses counterattack you don’t expect to take damage from riposte.

Put a ninja troop on him :+1: he a wizard class too think they give slight advantage to that class .

It does look like a design error. Either he ignores defense buffs and counterattacks or he doesn’t.

Ya it seems to ruin him completely, you should just stop using him

And you don’t from the SS.

You take less damage from the riposte on the passive here than you do from random tiles. And in addition to the direct damage of the passive, he applies a pretty nice DoT. That’s a trade I’d gladly take almost every time.

Minions get counterattack damage so I can’t see how a passive damage shouldn’t be counterattacked too. Passive aren’t special skill, so Sobek isn’t able to make them bypass defensive buffs… they have advantages like status effects not being blocked by Malosi & Co. but they aren’t meant to be flawless ways to deal damage.

My real problem with Sobek is that his name sounds too much like Goseck and it’s giving me PTSD.

I call him Renekton

Aaah, the famous Renekton, the butcher of the sands. This terrifying, rage-fueled Ascended being from the scorched deserts of Shurima who once was his empire’s most esteemed warrior, leading the nation’s armies to countless victories, and who, after the empire’s fall, was entombed beneath the sands, and slowly, as the world turned and changed, succumbed to insanity.

Now free once more, he is utterly consumed with finding and killing his brother, Nasus, who he blames, in his madness, for the centuries he spent in darkness.

Nope, I didn’t google nor copy/paste/edit all of this.

I like when heroes have weak points. Actually. Maybe it’s just me but I hate perfect monsters like penolite and Lewena that can wipe an entire team without mercy and even block ressurects and get stone skin. Makes the game seems like a joke.

You must not be a fan of One-Punch Man then.
