I second, third and fourth this idea.
Actually came to post this exact thing.
With all the new hero families going on, just the new 3 stars and 4 stars are taking up much space, not to mention HOTM duplicates, needs more space relieve SE activities.
Couldnāt even keep a 2nd copy of waddles due to space limitation

Even if she has been nerfed recently? i got her 4/80 +20 but then got Sobek, now i canāt make my mind, i only have 8 5* LB materialsā¦ tough choice

Me too. Even with the nerf sheās very useful. Iām lacking good fast blue heroes besides Crystalis and Morel

you all realise that this is done prior to BlackFriday when all the major pulls are done and 5*s dupes will dropā¦ hence you will keep them for another 3 months until next SE and you will spend gems on roster spaceā¦

You might be on to something @BoolzSan_CrewKNIGHTS. How often have SG given one weeks notice, for an event they omitted from a calendar of upcoming events for the month, 
ā¦ Yeah I canāt remember either .

Isnāt it obvious why they moved it forward? To encourage people to keep pulling during BF event. People will be much less likely to pull if they have only a few free slots.
- Let people spend all of their current gems on day 1 and fill up roster with extra junk 5s
- Hopefully theyāre addicted and buy some more gems and keep going because they know SE is coming up
- Trade all of the junk 5s they got for SE
- Lots of space again to start collecting more 5s
- Lots more pulls than if people generally didnāt have space
