Though the loot is a placeholder, for the number of matches and time put into the event, the loot does seem commiserate with what could be 240 battles.

Neat idea, but time to loot ratio is off for me.

exactly so i’ll wait it out, read other’s experiences, then see the actual loot eventually and decide if it’s worth the time or not

with so much in the game now, i feel it’s wise to figure out what’s worthwhile and what’s not. as i, like most other responsible adults, only have so much time for a video game

I’m thinking if the +30% stat increase for a hero family is the way to go in this tournament even if you end up using defence teams with several heroes of the same color and even if they don’t get any particular synergy. For example I could bring Celimene and Tinsel, of which both would get the bonus, both hit damn hard but both are ice -def heroes who overwrite each other.

I’m also thinking the +10% stat bonus for a class is nice, but not really game changing unless you can combine that with the hero family bonus.

I already decided I’m not going all in on this thing. I will try it this time – maybe – just to see what it’s all about. But I am not devoting more time than I already am to a video game. It’s a pastime, not a vocation.

Hopefully there’ll be a turn counter/indicator somewhere. If I have the defense down to a single healer, I’d like to know whether to go for the quick win or get more style points by making dragons/diamonds and combos.

i was pointing it up in beta, but for now is still bad bad and not worth of time

hope at least we will all get sime nice reward for participation in beta of this league like we did for monster island if i remember correctly

No, there will not be any lock as you can change your defense team any time during the Hero League.

Any time means you can change your team multiple times a day even after the league started? Or only on cool down days before a new round starts?

If it’s really changeable any time, you could „ruin“ your def, if there are any costumes in the def which you use in a different version for normal raids and war etc.

What does everyone think of the comparison of Level 90 Heroes versus Level 85 Heroes with +30%?

Some thoughts:

• Looking forward to it!

• People are saying the amount of effort/time required for the event is too much considering the rewards. It uses raid energy so I guess it comes down to whether you enjoy raiding and would use that amount of raid energy anyway. If you do then you really won’t be investing anything extra into the event than you would otherwise playing the game. If you don’t then yeah I agree this event is definitely not for you

• I am going to try to win regardless of how my tile matching is rated. I won’t artificially extend any matches in order to try to get more bomb and diamond points. This whole aspect of it is stupid and subject to abuse.

• I am fairly confident that my FTP roster won’t be seeing wall upon wall of OP meta defenses, that most defenses will be beatable with the right team setup, and that it will get through to the last round at the least (say top 10k finish). I am however conceding there is a chance that I will have to eat my words.

• 7 days is a stupid registration period

If I look at my placement in rt when in top 1% and 5% - unless I am severely mistaken - it’s highly unlikely it’s possible for me to finish in the top 10k even if I am doing extremely well on offence and motivated enough to use all flags every day

Unless something has been changed about the weighting of defence scores (doesn’t look like it) only people who have an A on defence stand a chance at progressing easily through the league tournament and landing in the top loot brackets for placement

I’ve wondered about this too. If you fill two raid chests a day you’re probably using those 10 flags a day anyways.

A fair point, it does depend on existing playstyle.

In my own case, it’s entirely likely (I don’t actually know!) that I have never filled two raid chests in one day. Whether I fill even a single raid chest on any given day depends significantly on how many goes it takes me to efficiently clear PoG/PoV tasks, whether I have active tournament hits, and/or my raid chest is close enough to full that I will, then, do a few raids for the sole purpose of filling a chest.

I don’t find raids that intrinsically interesting, raid chests are 99% meh, even grinding for elemental chests seems unrewarding, and I’m already doing plenty of raiding for PoG/PoV, tourneys, wars, W3K, even Covenant pseudo-raids, so any increase in frequency is a big thumbs down for me.

Moreover, it’s not just the frequency, but that I need to do increased raiding every day. I’m already tired of the “oh I have to” feeling of many events in this game, once I begin them and I’m trying to reach even some minimal completion goal.

IN GENERAL I better appreciate events where I can choose how to do my hits over several days than ones in which I need to check in every day. Some days I just feel more like doing X or less like doing X, but in the case of “X = League” it doesn’t matter: if I were to seriously try to stay in the whole month, then I’m committing not just to “more” but “more, every day, for a month.”

And the “placeholder” rewards are barely north of terrible for someone for whom League is essentially free.

For anyone who would have to put extra time and patience into this… in in-game reward terms, it really does beg the question of “should I devote extra time to League, or should I just log in randomly a little more often solely for ads and immediately log out?”
