🏴‍☠ [Mar 2020] Pirates of Corellia Challenge Event – Guides, Discussion & Summoning Results

I can’t remember if I beat Epic and/or Legendary last time with this.
But I should be able to this time. I am never looking for top 1000, or anywhere else on the leaderboard. I always just want to finish each tier.

Despite relying on Proteus for events and quests, I do also have:

2x Hansel
1x Peters
1x Miki
1x Little John
1x Li Xiu

I think my main team will be
Wilbur / Boldtusk + 2x Hansel + Miki

For me, I am hoping that will be a good “main” team"
How does that sound? To those who have definitely beaten Legendary, is that a plausible team?

Although for the stages that have Green Monsters, I may switch out 1 Hansel for another red: Guardian Falcon.

Edit:
Okay so I just looked at the October discussion for my posts, and I see no mention from me for completing EPIC or LEGENDARY. So If I can complete both of those, I will be extremely happy.
What do you all think of my teams? I have more heroes I could switch out, but I think those above that I listed are the best ones ? I have mostly 4* maxed with a few emblems. My only 5* are Miki + Justice, that are maxed.

Well if you time the Silence with the mana control you should be fine. I suggest bringing mana pots

LJ is squishy so you may want to consider an alternative for the later rounds as he will likely be dead before he fires.

Wow spellcheck sure isn’t my friend sometimes

The month is young yet. There is hope.

Possible stupid question for you all but here goes:

On stages 13, 14 and 15, they each have 3 bosses (doh).

Using someone like Miki against them, IDEALLY I want to eliminate one of the flank/side bosses first, but for each of them, which should I TRY to focus on?
I know it won’t/can’t always go to plan, depending on tiles but I will be using Wilbur too, so that won’t necessarily be a huge problem (now watch me have difficulty lol).

Edit:
Also, in comparison to Knights of Avalon + the Santa/Christ Challenge Event, is Pirates easier or harder, or about the same as one/both? If you had to order those 3 (i have never done springvale) in hardest to easiest, which would be the hardest > easiest?

You can by pass Miki’s weakness (slow mana), by charging him before boss stage and by using super mana potions (if you can craft the ones that give you 100% mana).
Looking at your previous post, your team seems to focus on heavy ult lockdown. And can take some beating, thanks to Wilbur but also because Boldtusk and Miki can take some punishment before going down.
Stage 13,

Summary

going for a Guardian Falcon instead of x2 Hansel looks like a viable option. Charging him and Miki before boss stage (redundant advice, as you should always be full mana before event boss stages unless you are pushing for ranking), with a dimond red on the board and as many red tiles as possible on middle and right side looks like the best strategy. You may want to focus lock down skills on Sargasso and Vodnik (Boomer should be the one that hits for less, so if you cant afford to lock them all 3 the whole game, focus the other 2).
As for items, you can go Mana potion heavy with Timestops. If you cant afford time stops, maybe go mana potion heavy with arrows. If you are not confident you cant lockdown whole fight, bring antidotes (the super one that heal are even better, because they combo really well with Willbur).

Stage 14,

Summary

you could go x2 Hansel and build a Green diamond in the middle with as many green tiles as possible. And combo Miki’s ult with that (same opening as stage 13, but w/o Falcon). After that, try taking down Finley first, and if you happend to be low mana and Kestrel is going to shot. You can tank that hit pretty well (ofc, this depends in the white queue hits from bosses that come togheter with said ult). But as a point of reference, getting hit with low to none mana would be the ideal way to take his ult.
Items, the same. Your whole strategy is to have a strong opening hoping to dish out a lot of tile dmg. After that Willbur will most likely keep you alive from single dmgs or ult dmgs, so keep BoldTusk up for healing.

Stage 15,

Summary

you want to take down Marie as soon as possible. Otherwise you are dragging the game way to much. As for Lady locke, if you are confident in your ult lock down for Marie and Sargasso you can counter her ult by using an antidote everytime (insane value, but then again if you use them all Sargasso’s ult may start being a threat).

Disclaimer, I do not have Hansel. So I may be understimating the amount of dmg x2 Hansel can do during this kind of event, with their “Why are you hitting yourself” ult.

Edit: Forgot about Event difficulty, by far imho Knights of avalon number1. It was the only new revamped event that when it came out I was barely able to finish Epic difficulty. And this was a time where I was doing all other legendary events with 3.2/3.4k teams with no Proteus/Hel/any ult lock heroes or Willbur+Guardian Falcon. Cant say much about Xmas difficulty as by the time I got there, I was already rocking Proteus and steamrolling everything.

As for Pirates event 1 thing that makes it easier that most events, imho is the fact that Antidotes can counter a lot of the nasty stuff the bosses have (and they are really easy to make, so any player of any level can have them ready).

Last time Grazul really helped me out on the final stage of Lengendary to keep from running out of antidotes. This time costumed Sonya will be able to help there too.

Att up and double def down, maximum tile damage, stack against the mobs and nuke the bosses.

Completion on the first run without items, then reruns on stages, where points are less than the previous.

Never reached sth special, but made it up to the more than a silver token loot in all tiers without burning resources and refills like crazy.

I never did more than 3 reruns and left some stages without any.

I don’t want to restart several times just to get an on color diamond from the starting board.

In legendary which hero should be killed first to finish it easily and why ?

The new S3 hero Mist seems to be sizing up perfectly for this event. No she’s doesn’t have DoT or mana stop, but -64% mana generation is actually pretty significant, and that -34% def against special means your Jackal (or any decent yellow sniper) is going to hit that much harder. She seems to be a handy replacement for Proteus for this event.

Too bad the only other 4* yellows I have are Chao and Li Xiu (let’s not talk about the two unleveled Hu Tao’s mmmk?) both fairly meh and stuck at 3/60 due to mat wall. But at least they have some synergy with Mist in terms of mana control. Worst case for final stage I’ll just dragon+bomb+axe the bosses from orbit lol.

Telluria’s -34% mana generation is significant. Mist’s -64% mana generation is huge!! Wish I had her leveled for the event lol

@zephyr1, wich MONOs are you going to set up for Rare and Epic?

I’m going to do my first runs with my usual mono reds, and see how those go.

That’s what I used last time too: 🏴‍☠ New Pirates of Corellia Challenge Event – FAQ, Discussion & Summoning Results - #164 by zephyr1

My Rare team has Costumed Hawkmoon now, with 2x Squire Wabbit and 2x Rudolph.

My Epic team is the same as last time:

The only real difference is that Colen is at +13 now.

These are my Reds and Blues (maybe for the red mobs stages) monos for Rare…

And these ara for Epic; in your experience, do you think that’s enough to “softly” compete?

Yes. If you’re aiming for Top 500 like I do, I think that’ll be doable with those teams.

Yep she was the one I specifically wanted from Valhalla summons, and I didn’t stop pulling until she finally showed up (took only 21 pulls). Was tempted to throw everything I had at her but stuck to on-color feeding and one week later she’s already at 4/51. :slightly_smiling_face:

Since Proteus continues to elude me, I try to make the best use of her and she’s quickly becoming my favorite hero for raids/wars. She’s a bit tricky to use since her debuff only lasts 3 turns, but if you can charge up your snipers before or during those 3 turns, man the results are spectacular. Mist+Grimm = you can finish off what’s left with just tiles.

Thanx, my friend for your reply!

Does somebody know if the stages only give 1* heroes as potential reward or if late/higher stages also provide a chance of a 2* drop. At the moment I’m farming rare/3 to obtain some feeder heroes. Thank you

Just got Finley in a 10 pull. My current defense is Alasie/Mitsuko/Kunchen/Drake Fong/Kingston. Is Finley a straight upgrade to my defense? I have Vela at 3/70 and was actually planning to give her scopes today. Should Finley get them instead? Then give him all of Alasie’s emblems and replace her on defense?

made one pull, did not get my finley, only got a colen, now I’m sad :frowning:
