Happened just a few minutes ago, 2:55 am PST to multiple people in my alliance at same time. Restart fixed it.

Temporarily happened to me as well. I noticed I was in General chat and when I went to swap to Alliance I was not a member of an alliance.

And it occurred again.

It found the alliance after perhaps a minute without restarting the app, but alliance chat was gone except for system messages; did not get the chat back until I restarted the application.
