There were comments that with path of valor, you always had to pay for the female avatar. I believe this change is to correct this.

I really dont think there is a rule behind the gender for heroes of the month.
They come up with the mechanic and it’ll work regardless of gender, it’s simply a matter of hero art.

Chaging it Male, Male → Female, Female would be a solution if the point you considered about the PoV was actually a concern, but I really don’t think it is (after Glenda we have a male one, a female one and another male one, so…)
