well sure, thats what I’m planing and concern and what I’m talking about… 4% is 2 hero *1 on-color at a time right? I have already said around 1-5 heros *1 on-color.
But, then you just make it more clear, so I will try this 4%.

He was already 7/8 at just 2/21. As he can get additional skill level when I ascend him to 3rd tier, I just throw everything not bothering about the color…

OK that make more sense, because the exp not get much so then it make more chance, and at 4%.

Edit: *2 off-color is still more experince, well thats not good. I will switch using 4% on-color *1 heroes.
Actually, don’t use different color.
Two 1* same color = 360 xp
Two 2* different color = 780 xp
Yes, you right I will use 2x *1 on-color = 4%.
Edit: now Proteus Max skill 8/8 at 3.16, yes it works! the last using twice 2x *1 on-color, so continue with 10x a time after max skill is best option after all.
Next is boldtusk at 1.28 still at 1/8 now.
I regularly reach 8/8 around 3/20 with 10 at a time (1* + 2* on color mixed) 
Have you complete legendary challenge event? At 3/60 Proteus is capable of leading 3000 TP team finish it (unless its next month reflect purple event).
not yet, last event I do not have Proteus, and I only finish Rare challange, and Epic only at stage 5 as I remembered (actually win but hard), so I’m not continue wasting flag, and just doing stage 1 only at legendary (also win), but only to get the silver coin rewards 
maybe next event challange will try, let see… thanks
