Of those 2, I find gravemaker more useful. Which do you use more on defense and raiding?

On defence I think GM always gets that spot. I always use him when raiding too.

Tyr damage is 1x and small, compared to GM. 3x, extra on green.
I would do GM.
If you are FTP, I suggest waiting better (newer) heroes.
Otherwise, I guess you could afford gravemaker
IMO, Tyr is not good. Between the two, I’d do GM in a heartbeat.
Seriously Tyr is a good hero especially bringing him for raid. He probably the last man standing after raids.
I do have both (GM and Tyr) and personally my own experience, I have more victories with Tyr 
and his survivability in alliance wars and raids is top notch.
Tyr is selfish… and not a good damage dealer
Damn… where’s the logic in that?! Next red aethers are just a couple of month away, what are the odds of a f2p getting a better hero before that?

As FTP, you wouldn’t want to spend hard to come by resources on mediocre heroes who’s shine already started to come off. I believe most people would go about their plan in a “positive” way, as in hoping something better would come their way. LB either hero wouldn’t make them any much better tbh. The extra stats probably only help once a blue moon
You’re not f2p, are you? After 4 years of daily grind I stil use Joon and Sartana every day. And that’s raiding 5000+ targets. Waiting to get better heroes is foolish for a f2p player. You need to play your cards, or you might be waiting for years for something that never comes… and if it does come, new aethers are 100% guaranteed in a few month.

I’m not but I know F2p in my clan that are >5000 Tp non S1 defense lineup.
Perhaps we can come to a concensus that OP should collect another set of Aethers before proceeding
Good idea. That’s what I did before I proceeded to LB my non costumed GM
