Update: I asked, and they’re working on getting an official confirmation from a developer — but because of the timing on the weekend, it probably won’t be before the Tournament starts, though it will likely be early on the first attack day.
With not many rare options I hope Kaila will be able to gain the time to charge my slows.
Same here, Chochin at tank:
Mnesseus - Melia - Chochin - Gato - Squire Wabbit (no emblems on anyone)
Everyone is Fast speed except Chochin. I figure with Melia & Gato getting splashed with tiles going at the tank, they should fire their specials just before Mnesseus and Wabbit - and in particular, Gato before Wabbit will keep the Defense penalty off of Wabbit, and so he’ll get the benefit of his huge damage without the drawback.
We’ll see how it goes… I considered Namahage or Brienne in there somewhere instead, but I figure this will be fine.
EDIT: I have both Gunnar and Kailani available too, but I opted against those options, I think it’s risky… once they fire, what’s to stop someone from hitting one of my teammates with -DEF (say, with Valen), and then just whomping that compromised defense to share the damage around? (Is that how it works? Or will the +DEF of Gunnar’s ability protect against the shared damaged somewhat?)

I think I’d take Rudolph. A minion is as close to healing as you can get in a Bloody Battle.
Going offense is the best defense route:

Looks like we will have to find out by ourselves when someone faces the first Muggy, lets him shoot his special and verifies if the reborn skill is allowed or not.
Assuming people use him on Defense, yes. I’m planning to just wait for an update or test in Beta on Offense.

My 1st 5 flags.
2 defeats. Weird, that my attackers (same as my def) lost against a Hawkmoon tank and a Muggy wing, but won against heavy fast hitter teams and against 3 ice without nature.
Already tried. Won’t work. Even with talent update. Swapped her out for Remnick

Works well for me on offense and on defense.
I just powerlevel Tyrum to replace Oberon on offense, since Ulmers and Oberons DoT don’t stack.
I tested in Beta, and it looks like Muggy’s Bruiser Bros status effect doesn’t even attach to begin with.
So his Special Skill seems to literally do nothing during Bloody Battle.
I’m all fast here on attack (Hisan, Mnesseus, Valen, Gato, and Azar). 5-0, no issues, no emblems on any of them.
That said, they’re still baking in a scoring advantage for higher level team powers (higher team powers get a point advantage on attack that lower team powers don’t) Just thought it needs mentioning in case any one reading cares about whether everyone is on the same playing field or not for these things. 5-0 is apparently good for 20,000+ place at the moment (5%), so I’m guessing I’ll be lucky to finish top 10% at the end (fwiw, more annoyed than angry about it, but it’s still a really stupid way to run these things).

This is the problem with no choice. You want to be in first place, others just want to be able to survive the fights. So many ppl so many different opinions.
But SG made it so we have no chooses in the tournament. So this is really the best that they can come up with.

What Checker said. The higher your initial defense team power for a given tourney, the more potential points you can gain from attacking. And since we can’t choose who to attack to make up the difference, it’s very difficult to gain ground.
The other fun note is that it doesn’t matter what the team that is attacked defense is. A defense that contains one Aife is worth as much as one that contains 5 Gravemakers in this system.

Won 5/5, sitting at score 2375 and currently rank 21720.
And then add in the defense score, which may be attacked 5 times, or more than I can count.
Edit: there’s also a team in the top 100 that has 2 maxed (but not talented) and 3 unlevelled 3s in their defense (TP 1797). Wonder how that’s working out point wise for their opponents.
I’m pretty sure the points are based on your top 5 heroes, not your defensive team. That guy must have better 3s that are emblemed because he wouldn’t be able to score that many points.
