I’ve noticed this the last costume summon, but there are times when I get a duplicate hero with costume(s) yet I don’t get the costumes in my extra saved costume area
The costume portal is not open today so your summons are for the base hero alone and do not include the costume.
Note this applies to hu tao and other season 1 heroes. If you summon alucard multiple times you’ll also get the costume multiple times.
That’s odd, I always get the costumes no matter when the summon if I already have them, I already have a leveled up hu tao and just received another one who also has the costumes. I got the underwild character with the costume before and then got him again with a summon… so howcome he’s noted to be as a repeat costume but not any other hero I’ve had duplicates of?

Are you saying that no matter the fact that Ive received a duplicate hero, unless it’s through a costume intended summon… I won’t receive any of the extra costumes to level up?.. But I’ll still receive the costumes to level up that repeat hero as if it’s it’s own
I don’t remember it always being like this, is it a new change?
I used to get to use any of the duplicate costumes through any summon to level up other costumes
If you got the Underwild character from Underwild summon, costume is included
Hu Tao WITHOUT costumes is available in most summon portals …

Let’s start with a “new” account.
If they summon Chao (easier to type than Hu Tao for this example), they’ll receive him without costumes.
If the summon happens during costume chamber, Chao comes with all of his costumes. If you summon a second Chao you’ll get a duplicate for each costume as well. You only need one of each costume and can never feed them all away anyways. But you’ll have that extra.
If you then summon on say underwild, or Goblins, or Seasonal and get Chao, you don’t get more costumes, but that one copy of a costume you have, is usable for all copies of Chao.
This has been how it’s worked since the second iteration of costume chamber.
Ahh ok, thank you😭 sorry it took so long for me to get it. I’ve been oblivious to the change for so long.
The change meant that you got more…the original iteration gave only the costume and not the hero itself. This actually meant some people had the costume, but not the hero itself! There probably are still cases where this is true.
There has never been a time where you received the costume from a portal other than the season/event specific portals or a couple of very special portals.
