Is it bait and switch?

There are many Telluria owners who were just starting out and are having their most powerful hero nerfed. It’s difficult to see the forest through the trees when their game was made more exciting, and their raid buttons weren’t broken.

There are also many Telluria owners who welcome this change because their raid buttons WERE broken. A quality game has variety in it. This one has lost that aspect at high level gameplay.

Unfortunately… nerfing is a necessary part of maintaining balance.

And here in E&P has been minimal in comparison to buffing.

Yes it was bait and switch…for people who thought they were downloading a fun game. Baited in by fun gaming concepts, only to find out the game has absolutely no variety later on.
However…
that bait and switch has been remedied now.

The game will stay fun as you progress through it.

What if you go to a casino and they have an advertised prize. It’s a new Tesla that retails for $100,000. Say you win that prize from the casino. Now if they take upgrades off of that Tesla after you win it you think that’s okay? They change the prize that you won.

Is it though? Why is it so hard to believe that sg did something to bring them the best sales in their history. “Hey let’s release this hero super overpowered and make lots of money, we’ll deal with the unbalance after we get paid”.

A follow up point:

if you paid for Microsoft office suite because you needed Microsoft word and power point, then 3 months later they removed 50% of Microsoft word, and 35% of PowerPoint, people would be asking for a refund too.

If Microsoft refused to give a refund, or at the very least offer compensation, they would be subject to a class action law suit and guess what they would lose.

As you said in your original post. The only reason SGG and companies like it can get away with this is due to a lack of precedent.

Forum was pretty calm two days ago… The toxicity you mentioned was created by SGG and not by players. We are expressing our frustration and disappointment to these disloyal policies.

And how is 50% or even 35% calculated here? Its arbitrary number, does telluria have 500 defence and 700 hp now?I see it all the time -comparisons that dont make any sense - organ harvesting, taking car back, etc

Tesla is physical object not digital licence.
But tesla also changes overtime, do you go back to Tesla and demand refund because your car isnt same as 10 years ago?

Its ok to to accuse people you dont even know of felony and fraud without any evidence but im “rude” here?

I didn’t say i was going to do it…i am just pointing that you know nothing about the law and are talking about a subject you obviously know nothing about and your opinions are based on little or no actual knowledge, which is proven by you actually thinking that because SG wrote some words on the T&C that you think it is the law… Omg.

Again , if it is says they can harvest your organs in the T&C then does that also become the law? Lol… I did try explain to you a few times how the law works you obviously don’t understand, hence you still thinking you are right… So i will leave you to it.

You wanted to use a casino approach but when someone brings up real points you don’t know how to intelligently retort. Casinos use money and prizes and that’s the example I provided. Cars might change but I know my car I have will remain the same way I want until I sell it. Call it a TV if you want. You win a 4K 240 hertz TV then they have a button that makes the TV 1080p 120 hertz that’s not what I won when I paid money to win it.

You should really try to understand others before responding.

Minion down to 9% hp is a 50% reduction from advertised product.

411 to the below 300 heal is about a 35% reduction

130 down to 90 is about a 30% reduction

And the mana gen down to 24% is another roughly 30% reduction.

Yay, math.

Anyone that thinks SG made a mistake is out of touch with reality. Many players saw what the synergy of the G/T/V would be before telly was released. If we could see it then so could SG. They released them this way knowing what a powerhouse it would create and knew they would profit. If SG didn’t expect people that didn’t have this combination to complain they are stupid. I do believe that they planned releasing them only to nerf them later after they made a huge profit.
If I could forsee G/T/V being ridiculously OP then so could the devs. If I could forsee the people that didn’t have them crying and whining about it, so could SG. So yes, I figured they were meant to be released that way. I thought that this game was going to be a bit more challenging. I didn’t think that they were going to nerf these two heroes into the ground. Since they did it does seemed planned from the start.
Is this legal? Probably. Is it ethical? Absolutely not!

So if it was innocent why don’t they compensate?

I’m sorry if this causes offense but i see a lot of naive people on here.

Let’s analyse at how the monetary side of the game actually works.

They create powerful hero’s that people want and make them rare, people summon to try and get those hero’s.
This is how they make money.
Seen as though this is the actual business plan for their game, then why is it so unbelievable to think that they would do something which their entire business model is actually based on!!!..?. lol

There’s a difference between what is said and how it is said. What is said is not in question. How you said it was rude.

things as they are .
If heroes are sold in the game(not ), that is true, but it is like saying that in a casino they don’t sell you money.
So if in a casino I play and I get the jackpot of 1,000,000 dollars they have to give me that and not tell me, look at the situation in the casino is not good, we will give you less. In the case of the game, one spends money buying gems hoping to get a certain hero not because we have excess money and we do not know where to put it, but because I want a certain hero and if after obtaining the hero it is not what they announced or promoted to me It is not ethically or politically correct and is called a scam

agree in all of this and i would point something more into the ecuation.
the first nerf was exactly after the atlantis gravemaker was featured for last time. coincidence? maybe. profitable casualty? you can bet on it.

Yes, I do remember that the first nerf was right after GM appeared in Atlantis. SG had to cash in on that before the nerf. I find it funny (not in a good way) that telly and Vela are the only ones getting nerfed in the trio as GM was on just as many defense teams.

So by your reasoning anyone who accuses anyone else of mis-selling them something is being rude?.
People bought a license for something which later changed, think of it like buying Microsoft word, if they remove most of the features after buying it, then by your logic that’s ok. ?

Yes, they make a fortune on people still trying to pull GM in the tavern… they don’t want to lose that revenue by Nerfing him do they. :frowning:
People need to stop spending or SG will never change their tactics.

That’s a really weak argument.

Obviously there is a 0% chance of getting Telluria now, and there was a 0% chance in January and February.

In March, however, the chance was not 0%. Those who summoned in March may have done so with the intent of trying to get Telluria. This is the only month this year they could have done so. And many people surely did exactly this.

The means through which the hero is obtained is moot, as the intent of SG is to sell the hero via summons, and the intent of the consumer is to buy the hero via summons. That the cost is widely variable and in extreme circumstances may be infinite is relevant at best and worst in a court room.

This semantic argument is pointless and does nothing but to deflect deserved blame from SG for their cruddy business practice of using strict gambling-designed and tested RNG for summons. It also derails the OPs concerns of whether this is a switch and bait.

I don’t think it is bait and switch.

SG stated their intent with Telly’s design was to make a Great green tank. Well. Mission fkin accomplished  … but seriously, they had good reason to want this - the 5* green tank scene was nigh non existent!

Did SG do a good job designing and beta testing this hero?

This is WILDLY disagreed upon!

The beta testers themselves mostly argued for Telly not being nerfed so strongly as she is now. They wanted small reductions to her abilities. But I saw very few calls for a massive nerf to Telly.

I am not a beta tester, but I stated she was perfectly balanced - for a slow hero. And I stand by that. I think making Telly slow, you could buff her back and she’d be balanced. BUT that’s besides the point.

SG had a purpose: create a green tank.

She was beta tested and they got A LOT of MIXED feedback on her. They took their best guess - and that aligned with A LOT OF REALLY SMART BETA TESTERS / MODS - and released the hero

Understandably, a lot of people saw what Telly did and purposefully took great effort to pull her.

As a result of these combined efforts, and maybe some critical people for whatever reason not realizing how bad Telly was (SG designers, and beta testers) the game is now awash with Telly tanks.

That is a problem for SG if it starts hurting retention and enjoyment of the player base at large. That’s a problem for the players too, as alliances start to shrink and friends start to leave.

So SG has been trying, incrementally, to fix the mistake.

That isn’t bait and switch to me. That’s cause and effect.

Those who are directly affected (I got Vela) got a choice: look at this as a good thing or a bad thing. I see it as a good thing. It’s the game being better balanced, more variety in raids. More (relatively) useful heroes. It’s a good thing.

If SG develops a pattern of routinely doing this - which I doubt they will , they don’t want to harm consumer trust in buying heroes since that pays the bill - then maybe I’d be more critical and say “yeah, they’re clearly doing this a lot and it can’t go on.”

But I look at this as a win for all us gamers. I hope others will try to look at it that way too
