There was a time when food and iron, or portion of what were used, were not returned back after using the reset emblem. Only the full amount of emblems were returned when one is using reset emblems.
As to the resetting of the talents using gems, it is a game feature that only a portion of the used emblems will be returned. Hence, the importance of reset emblems.
As to the availability of the reset emblems, multiple threads were already created:

[Stub] Craft Reset emblems, buy in shop, Titan chests
We have 4 Forges, let us craft Reset emblems with a crafting time of 4 days. So a player could craft 4 Reset emblems in 4 days.
During Challenge events let us buy bundles of 30 Reset emblems ( Featured section, In stock: 1 ).
Add 5x reset emblems to every Wanted Titan Mission Chest.

As the title suggests I propose a way to trade in reset emblems for other emblems or something else. I’m not sure about any of you, but I’ve used one since this game started producing them and now I have 16. I’m not sure if the developers over estimated how quickly class emblems would accumulate, but the number of regular to reset just doesn’t add up. I mean, if I were to reset all the heroes I have right now, I’d still have three reset emblems left over. Pretty soon they’re going to the way of…
When Resetting emblems to 0 you should be able to use the emblems for another hero instead of the original.
EDIT: despite the fact this feature was not implemented, an alternative reward of Reset Emblems in class quests was, to make this feature less needed. Please see post 44 .
I see no reason why using gems should only return most of your class emblems, instead of all of them. This only stifles experimentation and creativity.
I’m fine with gems being used to reset the hero’s talent tree. I’m fine losing all the food and iron I used. Those parts seem fair to me.
