If you could create a future season, what would you base it off of?

Hello Empires and Puzzles world,

I’m Jäger, one of the most happy Empires and Puzzles player since December 2018. My goal with my contribution is to present a proposal for a possible Season 5. I have been working on this project for about half a year and since January of this year a teammate Nesda Isara has helped me to design my idea as it is today. She has developed the cards and made many suggestions about special skills, family bonus, card design, etc. Here again a big thank you for it.

In Season 5, I wanted to meet all season and our previous heroes like Vivica, Richard or Elenea for a grand finale. In Season 5, you’re supposed to save the world once again against all sorts of villains. From the Shadow Prince and Ursena to the Evil Gods like Fenrir, Alfrike, Jörmungard or Nergal. However, our heroes are not alone, but of course also get help from other gods, such as Tarlak, Thor, Loki, Dr. Moreau or the new heroes from Season 5. A big feature in Season 5 I would like to see the special ability reflection, which currently only ursena and Mitsuko make from Season 2. Besides, I’d like to see a few bricks converted, like the scroll of the change only in a special.

We tried not to make the heroes too strong and still make them interesting. I think we have succeeded in doing so. I hope you support this project, which has been built up with a lot of effort and has received a lot of positive feedback so far. Above all, I hope that maybe a few ideas could be seen again in Season 5.

Nice work and ideas!

But some of the heroes are very very unbalanced, for example all of the specials which are changing the color of tiles. In fact, changing 5 tiles without any additional effect could be too strong! Imagine how much damage these tiles could inflict when using a mono team!

The most broken hero I read is Ate: Any 2 of its 3 effects would already be much to strong. Actually, reflect 125% damage from ALL allies on its own is more than any existing “reflect-hero” does!

First and foremost… Congratulations on your work.
It’s huge and impressive especially some art which appears on par if not better than E&P’s although its style would be hard to render in the game bobbling animations.

I won’t jump into balance consideration and will concentrate on something else.

  • Naming: sometimes you’ve gone Greek, sometimes Latin. Despite feeling heterogenous it has created some dups (Zeus and Jupiter, Merkur and Hermes)
  • Jupiter a female?
  • Some art, although impressive, seems far off the traditional view of these gods: Mercur is basically Aquaman which makes me wonder why he is not either Neptune or Poseidon, Juno/Hera looks way too young compared to the likes of Athena and Diana, Hermes had wings but on his shoes…

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not young.
But I’m fond of backgrounds and it feels a bit too Percy Jackson to me.

Well done you and your colleagues for all the effort, the work, the thought process and your sincere and positive contribution to the game. It’s much appreciated. It’s great to see a players passion for this game

I hope SG and it’s developers consider your proposal for S5 seriously…

But I hope they don’t rush to implement a new season too quickly… it’s all getting too much (at least for me).

My preference for now is that SG spend some time balancing the game and improving QOL

Alright now hear me out here because your initial reaction might be “not cool bro not cool”

scantily clad babes.

I was brainstorming about how to make this work and landed on: Amazon Warriors

So I think yeah, Season 5, whatever SG had planned they should scrap it and get some babes in there. I don’t think mechanic wise it so much matters what they do, but let’s go with:

  • they’re all barbarians or fighters
  • they have skills that amplify barbarian or fighter passive skills

javelin / spear throw on Barbarians gives very high non dispellable bleed damage. Successive hits stack bleed damage.

Fighters who revive come back with bloodlust, gaining either attack stat stacks per revive (some heroes have higher fighter revive chance) or increase to next special skill attack (roughly a 50% increase in damage, so if it’s a sniper dealing 400% that would go up to 600%)

Some of the fighters have a chance to revive fallen Allies when they die as well as a chance to revive themselves

Heroic attacks - some heroes have special skills that do bonus damage against full health, boosted health, or enemies with minions. When targeting an enemy with any of these traits the special damage is doubled - but then the heroes base attack becomes 0 for 2 turns.

Fortifications - some heroes can add war modifiers to the battle in favor of their side. So one hero might be able to summon archer support (arrows), another a growing bloodlust for the team (attack boost), etc. i don’t know what happens when these heroes face off against each other, or whether fortifications should be able to be destroyed. But that could be worked out.

Mounts - once summoned with special skill they stay for the rest of the battle. Mounts have different effects depending on the specific mount. Horses change mana speed to VFast and provide +100 attack and +100 defense. Dragon mounts deal 200% fire damage to a random enemy each turn. Griffins do some other stuff. Giant bunny rabbit makes any physics-based “bounce” animations more dramatic. (Eventually SG could add mount-versions to existing heroes a la costumes. Khagan on a horse makes a lot of sense, and would be a way to provide a third version of him that was pretty dope)

As a straight woman, I couldn’t disagree more. Scantily clad male barbarians is the way forward.

Skills look OK though.

Dragon ball z theme would be lit

Shaka Zulu?? … red 5*

My initial reaction was “okay, that’s fair. Can’t argue that but we can’t both win here.”

Upon further review I think the answer is clear:

The babes are being invaded by the hunks. (Edit: I’m not married to this. It might be fun to have this go the other way and have the babes invading)

Now my go to for hot looking dudes has always been the Spanish. Something about them. It helps thematically that the Spanish did a lot of exploration of the americas.

So I see it now as the Amazon Babes listed above, with the dramatic “physics based bounce effects” the #1 design priority

But also having shirtless conquistadors with an exceptional amount of “I’d hit that” as the top design priority. I’d like to see glisten on their chests. Some below the belt artistic attention. I’m thinking less than subtle bulges and hip thrusts timed up with special skills when they’re on defense. And when you cast a special on offense they wink and smile at you, providing 512% smolder to the player.

Skill wise the conquistadors should be rangers and clerics

The clerics are the dark kind of cleric though, specializing in disease proliferation (poison skills that snake through the enemy team, and stack over time, and have % resistance to cleanse) and mind control (the balanced merlin / Hansel kind)

The rangers carry muskets, and have a higher than normal bypass chance (60%+) but also have an innate miss chance % (10-25% depending on character). This is balanced against higher base damage than current snipers, high enough to turn thr meta back to the era of the sniper for a time. (Also, a few of these snipers should have the passive ability to ignore taunt)

Not to diminish the efforts of SG graphic editors, but this is just another level… that icy stare goes right into your soul…

Might be a bit tricky securing the publishing rights from the owners, but, damn! Imagine the possibilities… all those heroes and villans… and monsters… and special skills… and great graphic possibilities!

Can we have a wizard of OZ level with tornadoes and a yellow brick road

Why go with a pale imitation, when you can have the original?

And the expansive Eternal Champion settings and cast.

OK, some of each, I can live with that. Conquistador a good look. Dark cleric a good skill. Proper snipers, about damn’ time.

Great idea. Add Corum and Hawkmoon (not to be confused with our favorite 3* healer).
Would have endless possibilities

Stormbringer could be its own card. Would make a fun season

Is Jupiter a shemale now? Male he is but quite beautiful male…

I was with him all the way until he said his Grandfather was visited by Time travellers from another dimension. Then he lost me but then I remembered he was in Hawkmoon and it all kinda makes sense :joy:

But they were great books to read as a gawky Teenager finding his place in the world

Lol, Season 5 option. Why not a season based on female warriors who defend their land against males and use males as slaves.

Battles againt male heroes only using beasts of the land as their allies.

Tiger-lilly battles with (obviously) the roar and strength of a tiger, mermaid warriors protect the surrounding island and of cause warriors in flight like eagles, hawks etc.

If you take a female hero into the battle against then she has possibilities of turning against her male counterparts, sending her specials towards the enemies to help them out.
