If you don’t have VIP, or it’s expiring soon, one thing you can try to do is get some friend to install the game for some free days of VIP, and you can reciprocate to help them in other games.
No monetary cost, and you each help one another.
You wait for a sale from a legitimate company ( Amazon/ Best Buy/ etc.). The company buys in bulk so Apple/ Google gives them a discount. Just like SGG gives a discount for buying gems in bulk or gems bundled with other stuff.
With iTunes gift cards, you add the card amount to your iTunes account.
For extra value wait until cheap gem offers or summon coins for a hero you need ( SGG how many different types of summons coins do you need? )
