I’m in the one forge camp. Have the barracks, hunters lodge, and hero academy out in front over the other three forges. Alchemy lab is currently “hidden”.

My only caution to folks with switching buildings around: the path of valor daily challenges will periodically ask you to level a troop. Don’t hide your barracks and then occupy your builder(s) for days at a time while POV is ongoing. Learn from my fail

You can miss more than 30 daily quests and still get the 4* mats so this is not the 5 or 6 times appearance of this quest that should drive you to convert a farm instead

You may want to double check & confirm this, but I believe if you change the level 10 Hunter’s Lodge back into a training camp and then a farm into the lodge, your lodge will still be at level 10

I can confirm that progress is not lost.
I keep the Advanced buildings active only when I use them, then most of the time I stay with the basic buildings.

Bad idea food production is just too precious to be wasted. Just convert one of your forge and switch into a barrack when you need to level troops.

the good or bad I think depends on the strategy adopted.
At the moment the only buildings that produce 24h / 24h are the training camps.

It is true that even here the workshops remain stationary for days, but so do the farms.
